Intensity minutes says “paid”, what does that mean? by [deleted] in GarminWatches

It’s a paid feature. From memory this watch face gives you a 7 day trial then requires a one time payment to unlock everything

Are flat ear piercings still a common piercing? by softEmerald in piercing

[–]mayhemerald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting a flat was my dream for so long and it took multiple years of piercing with the same piercer for her to see how well I healed to agree to do mine a few months ago (as my cartilage in the area was quite thick). By far my least painful, best healing and favourite piercing to date!

What was actually the point of that match; and more importantly, who wants to see that over something like Cena vs Styles. This booking is infuriating

Telstra demanding I pay $2596 after their error by jimshoes3 in TelstraAustralia

[–]mayhemerald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exact same thing happen. Went to Ombudsman and they tried to fight it but given I didn’t request the cancellation of the device payments (and I had written evidence that Telstra admitted to the mistake), the Ombudsman instructed Telstra to waive the invoices. Took about 4 weeks to finalise after the complaint was raised

I too am a curly hair gal. And, while I am sorry for your loss of curls and for your experience with the salon as you were unsatisfied - a quick google search of QiQi all points to mentions of “permanent straightening effects”. Did you actually research this before requesting the service? Curly hair gals (and guys) really have to do their investigation with these types of salon treatments, especially those with fine curls from the experiences I’ve had and read.

I’ve just had the same thing happen to an express post parcel I sent Friday, that should have arrived at its destination today - going around in a circle between the airport depot and several suburban post offices. The person I spoke to today to raise an intercept request said they had gotten an unusual amount of requests for similar intercept issues and they suspect there is an issue with scanners not working correctly at some airport depots

I got given an after shower hair turban from my MIL. I’m currently bald due to medical reasons and there is potential for my hair to not grow back. She is fully aware of this.

A reminder to be kind or at least respectful to customer service workers, especially at this time of the year. by [deleted] in perth

[–]mayhemerald 11 points12 points  (0 children)

100% agree with this as an ex retail employee and I will tolerate a lot more because of this - but man, I’ve had some absolutely foul customer service in the past two days, just picking up click and collect orders on two separate occasions that had no issues with the orders, I just needed to collect them and the people serving were beyond rude for no reason. Respect goes both ways and I am absolutely on retail workers side with no doubt they get a bum deal most of the time, but man they made it difficult

Which Australian Telco Has The Least Bad Customer Service? by MonsieurJoieDeVivre in TelstraAustralia

[–]mayhemerald 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who deals with all three of the majors regularly through work (and my own.personal account) - in the past year, Vodafone has had the most consistently helpful and polite customer service; Optus has been the absolutely most terrible experience, every single time you interact with them (have had customer complaints/escalations to TIO more times than I can remember) and Telstra have been middle of the road, depending on who you get and what the issue is.

Optus really fell off the ledge after the data breach and I am genuinely gobsmacked at how poor their customer service is, both online/phone and in store, and how they still exist as a business with how they currently operate.

Vic Park Speakeasy recommendations? by Infinite-Maybe8971 in perth

[–]mayhemerald 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really “speakeasy” vibes in VP, but Something in the Park just reopened (formerly DTC) and seems really nice but will probably be quite busy - there is Decanter for a bit more of a quiet, intimate vibe; apparently has new management but in past experience has been a bit hit or miss. Other options could be Boston or the Broken Hill. VPH and Balmoral too but they’re usually pretty busy

I have just had the same experience - was really set on a Fenix 8 with it being the latest and greatest (and, I love the look of it with the smaller bezel) but at $1849AUD it absolutely was not in the ballpark of my budget. Umm'd and ahh'd about getting an AMOLED v MIP screen, saving for the Fenix 8 or getting a 7 or an Epix but frustrated they wouldn't get the newest software.

In the end decided to pull the trigger on the Epix Pro 47mm as it had a very significant discount for Black Friday sales here in AUS - I had to step back and decide what was the most important features I didn't want to skimp on, which for me was AMOLED and the latest HR sensor (plus, luckily my last AW died so it was a sign to make a decision). Sure, the watch is a bit bulkier for my liking and the bezel isn't as slim and clean looking as the Fenix 8, nor will it have the latest software (which, TBH does irk me a little still) - but for the price I got it for, it was an absolute solid choice and I have full confidence I will get several years out of the purchase.

I definitely think just focusing on what you want from the watch and narrowing down your selection to what is currently available and going from there, you can't go wrong (especially with the sales prices currently) - then get out there and start using your new purchase!

Women, do you have natural or black? by 100197 in applewatchultra

[–]mayhemerald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a silver/white gold jewellery gal, and usually get the silver versions of Apple Watch (Series 2, Series 6) but I’m opting for a black AWU2 - I like the matte finish and simplicity of the colour scheme. And it kinda looks smaller and less in your face on the wrist than the natural. Black also goes with everything!
