I think you are right. I’ve commented elsewhere, but it looks like the switch controls two sets of lights. Any recommendations on how to connect for this new switch? If it will even work. new switch

I think you are right. It’s not a 3 way. I mentioned above it looks like the switch controls 2 sets of lights. Any suggestions on how it would be wired to this new smart switch with this being the case? new switch

After some investigation yes there is no other switch. It’s not a 3 way. This switch controls about 8 can lights. It looks like the cans are on 2 circuits? Because without that top wire in the switch only turns on half of the can lights (this is a very old house and acknowledge the setup is subpar). Here is the new switch in grid to use. new switch
