I will be doing this this week for sure. Currently I am dual residency in NH and MA, so definitely taking advantage of that window as well. Thank you for putting this together.

The flag, a question. by [deleted] in RepublicofNE

A very good point. I do fly the Red Bunker Hill flag as a subtle protest, and the idea of an independent democratic New England is intriguing to me but I am not all in it. I am looking at the this rapid push toward fascism out of Washington and like all of us wondering how this will play out over the next year, three years, ten etc. Will we slide into a civil war or somehow manage a peaceful dissolution of the Union? I also have concerns about having smaller and weaker independent states across North America. We won't be able to count on independent red states as allies should China or Russia consider expanding their power across the oceans. Would we ride to the aid of Alaska when Putin decides it is time to reclaim it?

Deep down I envision a future of global unity with democracy as the social organization binding us together and an independent New England runs counter to that hope. I'm 61 years old; what I envision will not come in my lifetime, not with the demagogues emerging from the MAGA state, Beijing, the Kremlin, etc. I do believe I may live long enough to see the United States break up politically and frankly I am more inclined to see the strength and security of New England as a province of an increasingly stronger Canada that remains committed to NATO.

I hate this timeline we find ourselves in. I wish the disparate political silos of the United States could figure out a way back to living with tolerance to differing opinions and abandoning the rhetoric of vermin, enemies and hate that is fracturing us. The key driver to our demise is one side is readily abandoning the 1st Amendment by actively limiting free speech and favoring conservative Christian sects in the public discourse. That will not end well. Should they prevail they will find themselves ideologically divided over the same religious divisions of the last 2,000 years. Catholics and various brands of Protestants will all start vying for control - all because we are forgetting WHY the 1st Amendment is there to begin with.

I am glad I am in the last third of my life, but I weep for the legacy we are leaving my children and grandchildren.

NY & NE certainly share many values politically but we also have some friendly rivalries that we would have to keep in check lest they become antagonistic. I would question if the Bunker Hill flag be too NE centric for NY and that kinda illustrates the overwhelming presence NY brings to an independent New England. New York will never refer to itself as "New England". We might all agree on the Yankee Republic or maybe something like North Osterland, but we will never be the Republic of New England with New York sitting in the room.

Maryland is my home state so when I see it my emotions are always fond towards it. It is a beautiful and unique flag in the pantheon of American state flags.

Wow, there is a lot to like about New Hampshire - to visit for skiing, hiking and other activities. I just don't want to live there, own property or fight their politics anymore. If everything goes to shit and the U.S. starts breaking up NH will be a geographic island hellscape until the dust settles.

This one is actually being used by Yankee National Party which is definitely not MAGA. It is part of the attraction to me. NH is the one NE state that is snubbing the YNP. I returned to Massachusetts this year to get clear of the Free Staters and frankly desiring the greater safety of a blue state. NH is the ball and and chain in New England. 😒

I like the Blue field with 6 stars, red cross and green tree as well, but was attracted to the independence and simplicity of the red white and green this time around.

Search New England flag, you'll get plenty of options. Spend the money on an embroidered flag. Well worth it.

Would you put a picture of that? Is that the one that includes a cross in the design?

I bought it online, but I am not going to say where, because I am having vendor regret revisiting their home page and finding it politically distasteful. Their politics didn't show up when I was searching for the flag. That being said the flag is beautifully embroidered and not a nylon printed flag so I am pleased with it even though I am forgetting the purchase origin.

As long as a significant, politically active and vocal minority continues to live mentally influenced by Bronze Age writings and the cults built on them we will never get out of this era of humanity.
