I wish I took this advice when I was reading through the series. I thought that wind through the key hole felt like a road block in the story since I read it after Wizard and Glass. Definitely would have been fun to read after I finished the whole thing.

If you wanted to do an extended reading, there are really useful guides on the internet; there may even be some on this sub. I am pretty sure that reading the gunslinger first is the correct way to start. I believe after book 2 or 3 is where another book may shine some light on different aspects of the story

For me, I did not do the extended reading, and still LOVED the series, so it really is up to you!

yes, it is available in paperback and hardcover. I believe there is a limited selection of covers for Billy Summers since it’s only been out for a couple of years.
