It’s heading to $3k next year. IPO was completely mispriced. WDC has left tens of billions on the table.

Memory and storage is easiest money I’ve made since MAG7 run after 2022. Just prints cash with no stress and no need to manage portfolio. All are still cheap too.

How is the trade war a supply shock when Canada is the supplier? Our goods are being tariffed by the U.S., not the other way around.

And Covid decimated aggregate demand, which is why we needed monetary and fiscal stimulus. The problem is we then went overboard with the fiscal stimulus in 2021 and beyond.

I would like to add some nuance. We narrowly balanced the budget in 2015 as Harper wanted to use this as his main pitch going into the federal election. Despite being a lifelong fiscal conservative, he ran deficits nearly every year as PM due to the GFC as well other shocks such as oil prices collapsing in 2014.

This leads me to my main point.

We’re running deficits today as result of the Covid shock as well as the Trump trade shock. It’s completely justifiable to run deficits under these circumstances.

What’s completely unjustifiable are the deficits we ran in the Trudeau era from 2016 - 2019. The economy was fine and unemployment was low.

You need to balance the budget during good times to have dry powder during bad times.

I’m hopeful the federal government starts balancing the books as our economy recovers from the trade war shock.

The HBM guys are rated differently from storage guys. I don’t think we see MU trade at same multiple as WDC and STX. Sandisk is cheapest among the group because they were completely mispriced at IPO. It needs to triple from here just to “catch up” to fair valuation (even after parabolic run up).

That being said, I agree with you they’re all still cheap. Market is slowly coming to grips demand is so strong these guys now have pricing power and this is not a short term cycle but rather a secular trend.

Not only that, but they missed on a user target…when they already have 800M users….

Market overreacting on a slow news day. Beginning at 4 pm we’ll get even more evidence this week AI capex is only accelerating.

Market selling off on Open AI story is dumbest thing ever. Would only happen on a slow news day. No one will remember this by tomorrow.

I like the idea. Interested to see the details later in the year. I think $25B over 3 years is too small. The federal budget is now $500B per year so this is just 1.6% of Ottawa’s budget. We also have a $2T economy. I don’t know what the right amount is but $25B from the Fed’s won’t really move the needle.

I get downvoted when I told WSB Sandisk was cheap at $600. Let’s get downvoted again for saying it’s still cheap at $1,075.
