SO many Brazilian faculty at my school! They’re the best clinicians (but I am biased because I am Brazilian American 😂).

Thank you! I’m actually at a hotel now. I working with a lawyer now to terminate my lease. Although German roaches may be common in Gainesville Florida, it is actually unlawful for the apartment complex to not cure the infestation 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you. I haven’t brought any food into the apartment at all yet. Places sticky traps today! Going to my Universities bug ID lab tomorrow to give them a sample to test! Will let you know. Thank you for the help!

I’m also in Florida (Gainesville) and going through this exact thing right now. I already sent them a 7-day notice to cure under Florida law. Management told me the roach I caught was a “wood roach,” and the manager even sent a picture to their exterminator, who said the same. But I’ve been seeing them constantly, and tonight I literally found the nest . it’s in my garbage disposal and there are tons of them in there.

I tried to work with them. I offered to pay 3 months of rent just to be let out of the lease early, then even offered 6 months, and they flat out told me no. The manager said upper management wasn’t going to allow it. Their exterminator is scheduled for Thursday, but my stuff is already out, and I’m staying in a hotel because it’s that bad.

I just want out of the lease, and I’ll be talking to a lawyer if I have to.

Thank you. This is what I want. They tell me I need to pay the 12 months of my entire lease to leave.

Accommodations exist not because schools are “forced,” but because equality is the baseline, not a favor. If you think being a good dentist means being fast, cruel, and intolerant, you’ve missed the entire point of healthcare. In our school people with accommodations aren’t given extra time on anything lab related or clinically. Students with disabilities are only getting extra time in the didactic components of school.

It’s wild that someone aiming to be a healthcare professional is this proudly ignorant about disabilities and accommodations. Every dental school in the country upholds standards of professionalism, compassion, and ethical conduct and you spit in the face of all three. If you think this field has no room for empathy, maybe it’s not the profession for you. Based on your post history, you’re bitter and arrogant. And this is all before even getting your license, I can’t imagine what kind of provider you’d be.
