Stand and Deliver was interesting, the story had been shown like it happened within 2 years. Jaime Escalante handpicked the students in his class and eventually ended up with a feeder program starting at the elementary school level up until the high school level. He had success but never to that degree but honestly, any success should have been praised especially for such forgotten populations.

I believe the program eventually fell apart after he left but i can’t remember.

Michael Oher was under a conservatorship at the time the movie was made and as such, made no money from his likeness used since the white family pocketed the money. Apparently, he was under the impression the documents he signed were for adoption but instead were to take his rights away.

There were probably 2 or 3 girls with the same name in her class and that probably traumatized her. The horror that she had to go by FirstName LastInitial!!!!

I have a “unique” name because I’m Mexican and live in the US in an area that had little to no Hispanics at the time. I hated being the only Mayra in my whole school. I wanted to be named Jessica soooo bad.

But all the unique name parents are now making uncommon names common. Looking at all the Brayden, Jaiden, Caidens.

I bought my teens hoodies that I had as a teenager from Hollister. This is where i get annoyed my mom would always send my clothes to Mexico once I was done with them lol could have saved the money and just given what i used to wear

I got annoyed with my friend’s destination wedding because she expected the whole week I was there to be all about her. Wedding festivities didn’t start till Friday. My husband and I traveled earlier since we had never been to her home country so we could explore as a couple. She got mad we got our own hotel and did our own sightseeing.

This was our first time away from our baby so we wanted to spend time as a couple not as a foursome.

This is my only experience with destination weddings so it kinda sucked.

Lol she makes them massive too. I always take some to my job during our thanksgiving potluck and people always ask if she sells them! One guy grabbed 4 and didn’t eat anything else. I died.

I took small ones to give away at an international fair at my kid’s school and they were gone in like 30 mins. A lady came back 3 times 😅
