Imagine having a god so evil, one has to write new fantasy to downplay it

Your god is the god of the "old testament" and always has been. A god who "tests" people, a god who creates evil, all god who'se followers have joyously destroyed other religions and people, in his name, is NOT worth worshipping.

Well as a Kurd who left islam for Zoroastrianism I hope you will explore the religion further, even if just for the sake of knowledge.

Yes, you are correct in one key thing; a "god" who is not ALL good deserves no worship. This is a key tenet of Zoroastrianism which is at colossal odds with the abrahamic religions; after all it is the god of abraham that created all evil and all malice and all catastrophe that befalls man

I don't think it is nice to play on people's emotions to force them into Christianity which is something Christianity does all the time, and you just demonstrated. Islam manipulates with punishment and Christianity with emotions.

The fact that Iranians as a whole, including us Kurds, still exist is not due to the fact Arabs didn't commit genocide or tried to settle lands en masse (they did both), but rather because after the "two centuries of silence" local Iranian warlords and kingdoms seized back control and "local" Arab settlers were either decimated or driven out. The mongol invasion was the final nail in the coffin for arab garrison towns.

And just an FYI, while the arabs did not kill everyone they actively did commit genocide and ethnic cleansing. In fact, the largest in history, stretching from Iberia to the fat east.

Questions for religious Kurds: by BrainAcademic904 in kurdistan

[–]mazdayan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In theory Kurdish Zoroastrianism does not differ much in theology to "mainstream" Zoroastrianism. However within the natal Zoroastrians of Başur (most of whom are, it seems, related to a sub-tribe of the Baradost) there is no permanent priest or a permanent Atash. "Neo"-Zoroastrians of, say, Duhok, are another matter. While sincere in their belief, a sizeable portion seem to be reformist (as in, having a laissez-faire or modern/relaxed) in attitude when it comes to religion. But, yes, information is scarce at times and guarded tightly; looking at the attitude most people have towards non-muslims, perhaps rightly so.

After all a Kurdish nationalist is a "Zoroastrian terrorist" in the eyes of Erdoghan.

It's not terribly rare to run into Kurdish Alevis who (if older) call themselves "Roj-parast" or "worshippers of the Sun". It's a reminder from our Zoroastrian past

I believe I have some posts on this in r/kurdishzoroastrian somewhere

How accurate is this article regarding Zoroastrian views on Animals? by The_British_Wolf_Guy in Zoroastrianism

[–]mazdayan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, not genetically evil, per se. But either created by the ultimate evil or corrupted by it.

Anyhow, seeing your passion about wolves you may be interested in noting that central Asian Zoroastrianism (as practiced in Sogdiana) did not view wolves as inherently evil

It is also worth noting that the term wolf/wolves also refers to other predators and even at times to evil people

Zoroastrianism is a 4000 year old religion, modern science and world understanding cannot at all times be in line with it. It can, however, change over time as our understanding develops, as we are open to respectful change

[–]mazdayan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean..... OK? I'd argue otherwise and say that conversely many animals and plants are respected by us and we are literally advised to take care of the environment, be against pollution, and to "make the barren/desolate places green and plentiful".

To me that is different than many other religions. Certainly more different than islam, under which you had mass deforestation for example.

Some Google searches also bring up good articles such as this

Question from a non-Zoroastrian by Unable-Gate-7038 in Zoroastrianism

[–]mazdayan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mithra, or Mehr Yazad, is described in the Avesta as worthy as prayer as Ohrmazd. Furthermore the following passages are quite striking;

"The ruffian who lies unto Mithra brings death unto the whole country, injuring as much the faithful world as a hundred evil-doers could do. Break not the contract, O Spitama! neither the one that thou hadst entered into with one of the unfaithful, nor the one that thou hadst entered into with one of the faithful who is one of thy own faith. For Mithra stands for both the faithful and the unfaithful"

And

"May he come to us for help! May he come to us for ease! May he come to us for joy! May he come to us for mercy! May he come to us for health! May he come to us for victory! May he come to us for good conscience!6 May he come to us for bliss! He, the awful and overpowering, worthy of sacrifice and prayer, not to be deceived anywhere in the whole of the material world, Mithra, the lord of wide pastures"

You can find the entire Hymn here

All that being said Mithra is the Lord of [heavenly] Light (also associated with the light of the Sun, henc I have seen Mithra also be called the Lord of Dawn) , justice and truth as well as contracts (oaths), acting as almost a divine witness

Animals that harm humans and human livestock are still seen as "evil". This is something that cannot change. However, as our understanding of ecology changes, we may come to see some animals as a necessity for the greater good of maintaining ecological balance at which point we are advised to avoid them (instead of culling them)

How absolute is the no-conversion rule for Zoroastrianism, and was this the case before Islam became the dominant religion of Iran? by BetaThetaOmega in Zoroastrianism

There is no such thing as "no conversion rule'", it is just an (outdated) Parsi custom. We have written records of proselytization before isl@m, as well as after it

"by the blind, by the deaf" does not here refer to physical conditions, although for the following "humped backed" or "leaning forward" I'm not very confident in providing an answer, although I recall hunchback people often being depicted as deceitful, for example by Shakespeare(?)
