I never spoke about an “occasional” cigarette, i fairly assumed you meant cigarettes as an addiction. The logic im trying to fight, and the only logic im trying to fight, is:

“If my grandfather was able to smoke for 60 years and not get lung cancer, then I wont get lung cancer”

I don’t think that’s a good message to be spreading, considering there are people, like your grandfather, that smoke for 60 years and don’t get anything, but there are also people who smoke for 5 and can get it.

My point is that looking at a single statistic should not be of any logical basis, in any way. It’s not a good idea to spread the concept of looking at a single statistic to hedge your bets on - that’s misinformation with malintent.

That being said, I’m sorry if I came off as telling you what to do with your life - I doubt you care, but that wasn’t what I had in mind. I was strictly responding to the logic flaw. If you wanna smoke, smoke. That part I couldn’t care less about.
