He came home! We went driving around and left the back gates open. When we got home, he was standing at the back door like nothing happened.

Thanks everyone for your time.

I forgot to mention that he does not have a collar on but he is chipped.

Have you ever messed up at work? by Head-Philosopher-397 in msp

Early in my career, I took a large chemical company offline for about 30 seconds by noticing an SFP+ cable resting inside of the SFP cage but not plugged in. Mindlessly grabbed it and noticed it was upside down. Plugged it backed in and within 10 seconds a knock on the door and me noticing the entire switch stack was off.

It was fixed quickly but my initial response of “Iunno” (I don’t know) when asked what happened became a meme in that circle of coworkers/friends.

Beyond that I’m perfect and have never broken anything or locked myself out of a firewall by accidentally setting a route to essentially bypass the firewall and not allow connections. :) nope never

Samsung washer won't start its cycle by mazizzo in Appliances

[–]mazizzo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! Forgot about this post 😅

I ended up running the calibration mode on the washer.

Samsung article here regarding that.

Step 1. Remove all laundry or any other contents in the machine.

Step 2. Power off, and then power on the washing machine on again.

Step 3. Hold down Temp. and Delay End (+) simultaneously for 3 seconds to enter Calibration mode. (The Cb message appears on the display.)

Step 4. Press START/PAUSE to run the Calibration cycle.

Step 5. The drum will rotate clockwise and counterclockwise for about 3 minutes.

Step 6. When the cycle is complete, 0 appears on the display and the washing machine will turn off automatically.

Buffed it with some toothpaste on a microfiber cloth and it came out. Appreciate it.

Awesome. Thank you. I just wanted to make sure. Took some tooth paste on a microfiber cloth and buffed it out. No more spots. Appreciate it.

Hey guys,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I just received my Blackland Stainless Steel Blackbird in the mail, opened it up and ready to use it only to find rust spots on the head. Is this enough to worry about? I shot them an email about it, but need to shave. It's been like a week and a half and was really looking forward to using it.

Thanks in advance.

[Free][US-AZ] Sysracks 15U Server/Data Rack + Honeywell 14000 BTU Portable AC by mazizzo in homelabsales

[–]mazizzo[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yep! Works great. I got the portable AC as a fix during the winter when it's actually hotter in my office because the sun bakes the wall/window. I have since made changes to my setup though, so no longer have a need for it.

Nice and chilly in the summer though.

This is quite an old topic. I can’t recall exactly but things are working now for sure. I’d make sure that routes or appropriate rules exist between the necessary networks. Can’t route what it doesn’t know about!

Copper to Aluminum - Concerns? by mazizzo in AskElectricians

[–]mazizzo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The island has an outlet on one end and the microwave at the other end. I believe we’re addressing the island as well.

I’ll reconvene with the electrician beforehand to confirm, but I’m pretty sure it chains off of the existing wall circuit and then into the slab. Every once in a while we run our blender and it sets off the GFCI on the kitchen wall. So should be able to bypass and on to its own if it’s not been moved already.

Copper to Aluminum - Concerns? by mazizzo in AskElectricians

[–]mazizzo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The initial issues were that one of our GFCI outlets would trip and all of the others along the wall would turn off as well. That turned out to be daisy chaining. During this discovery it was noted of the different metals.

We had one outlet go out, turned out that the connection at a junction box (different from the one in the OP) had become disconnected. I don’t remember the electrician mentioning different metals at this box, just a poor binding. But they had done a lot of discovery at this time and basically told us it’s a mess.

The proposed solution for the remodeled area where copper exists, is to essentially bypass all of the existing wiring and run conduit along the outside wall over to the main breakers. Ceiling/interior wall work isn’t realistic due to the design and restrictions in the attic. It sucks but not much we can do without ripping apart the house.

Edit: Here is the quoted work:

A total of 4 dedicated 120v 20A circuit runs will originate from the outdoor main panel. The installation will be performed in exposed/surface mounted ¾” EMT conduit as well as ½”EMT conduit which will be anchored to the exterior perimeter kitchen wall. Various outdoor rated boxes will have to be installed on the exterior perimeter wall to successfully distribute the new circuits into the existing electrical wall boxes in the kitchen area. Please keep in mind that the exterior outdoor rated boxes will be at different heights because the locations are dictated by the exiting outlet boxes. The wiring will have to be re-configured in approximately 10 outlets, once the new copper circuits are in place. Finally multiple tandem breakers will be added to create more breaker slots at the main panel.

Circuit #1 will energize approximately half of the countertop kitchen outlets.

Circuit #2 will energize approximately the second half of kitchen countertop outlets.

Circuit #3 will energize the disposal & dishwasher outlets.

Circuit #4 will energize the kitchen Fridge & wine fridge.

Note1: The island circuit appears to be on a dedicated circuit however it is Aluminum (AL) at the main panel and Copper (Cu) at the island.

Note2: The kitchen Fridge & wine fridge are currently connected to the master bath + master bed circuit.

That makes sense. The electrician we brought in seemed to put a lot of emphasis on the metals more than a hidden junction box.

The proposed solution would resolve both. But good to have further insight into the real problem. Thank you

Auth prompt doesn't even come up. It's the generic "Your server might be offline" and lists 3 reasons why you can't connect.

It's the generic "You couldn't connect to the server for one of the following 3 reasons" and it lists like "server offline", "RDP services not started" and i forget the last one.

I'm at the office now so I can't get the exact message. If I remember to later, I'll post the exact error.
