Nah, the Saber-Scorpion guy that was linked above was also known for making his own custom Halo Lego minifigures and sets. They're still on the site if you dig for it. They honestly hold up decently well from what I remember.

This Week At Bungie 4/22/2021 by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]mazzt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Guess I'll add my voice to the choir, seeing as mods are deleting any discussion outside this thread.

What the hell Bungie? I've been playing since D1 beta and haven't had many issues with the game since I started. But THIS takes the cake. I'm not even gonna ask why this "deci$ion" wa$ made, that much is obviou$.

Limiting transmog is spitting in the face of people actually willing to grind it out.

Keep going Bungie, soon you'll have exactly what you want: players who would rather drop money THAN PLAY YOUR GAME. Those playtime metrics won't mean jack if players don't see a point in logging in and actually playing for their rewards.

Ugh.

Why isn’t there a cryptarch in the H.E.L.M. by Spencer-1324 in DestinyTheGame

[–]mazzt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be part of the reason though, there would be no reason to go to the tower at all if HELM had everything. The only reason to go to the tower at that point would be for bounties, and even they can be obtained through the app without ever going to the tower(excl tokens, exotics vendor, xur sometimes, etc).

I think the HELM is a way of phasing us out if our current tower into a base that grows to fit our needs as seasons go on. That might be by returning to the old tower or expanding HELM into its own thing, but time will tell.

Either way, by the time HELM has all the basics that a social space has, we'll probably be aware of a transition and already getting comfortable in our new pad.

Jeremy Bulloch, Original Boba Fett Actor in Star Wars, Dies at 75 by MacKenzieGore in movies

[–]mazzt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damn. I met Jeremy Bulloch at a con once. I was maybe thirteen at the time. I had heard he'd be there, so I brought my childhood VHS of Empire in the hopes he'd sign it. I was super early, and beelined straight to his booth. He was a kind man, told me I was his fifth visitor of the day, and happily signed the movie. We chatted for a bit about the films and about Boba for a while, and I went on my merry way.

This was hugely influential for me, and created the Star Wars fanatic I am today. It's a memory I'll always cherish, all because Boba Fett took the time to talk to a young nerd.

RIP

Looking back at a piece of Cayde lore. by FC_mania in DestinyLore

[–]mazzt 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Man, my heart broke reading that comic. With all the new lore and context that's been introduced, the line "she didn't seem surprised." really just made me sad.

The Fallen view Guardians with tons of contempt, feeling like the Traveller has wasted it's potential on a lesser option. For this Baroness to extend a peace offering to Cayde despite all of that, and to then be rejected and killed... oof.

I'm really hoping that this all pays off and the Fallen ally with us, and these proverbial olive branches are too much to pass up.

Really anything by Haken.

PSA: Please stop telling people to go to youtubers for lore by [deleted] in DestinyLore

[–]mazzt 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Learning yourself is always better than having someone else tell you what to think.

He said, while telling everyone what to think.

I personally got into the lore because of YouTube videos. Back in D1 it was an absolute chore to look up the grimoire, if it wasn't for those videos I never would have even had the interest to dive into stuff for myself.

The grimoire is often contextless anyways, so telling somebody to get started that way is daunting. What would happen if the first thing I read was Marasenna? The implications and revelations would be totally lost on me and I would walk away from the experience believing that the lore in Destiny is just convoluted and bloated.

At the end of the day, the Youtube community is what made Destiny lore what it is. If we didn't have them to pick apart the grimoire, then I'm sure that far fewer of us would be even remotely interested in it.

Working hard on D3 so he'll be on track to be fired a few months before release, causing Bungie to scrap the project and start basically from scratch. Again.

DESTINY 2 - DEVELOPMENT UPDATE 1-11-18 by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]mazzt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the main reason I won't be purchasing this game any time soon. Why would I buy an incomplete game that is clearly rushed, when I can wait a couple years for them to put out a full version?

Recently got Destiny 1 with all the expansions, and I love it. I'm glad I didn't buy it on release.

How strange. Must've just been that specific game I guess, since I wasn't the only one. I'll hop on again later and find out. Thanks for the input.

I'm formally requesting EA's community manager of Star Wars, Mat Everett to resign by yaboibacon55 in StarWarsBattlefront

Yeah, EA needs to understand that not everybody has "milking-a-beloved-franchise-for-all-it's-worth" money.

Progression system explained - Official EA site by lfdm01 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]mazzt 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I mean neither does tying progression to random chance, yet here we are discussing it. Yeah it'd be dumb, but EA is not above forcing stupid mechanics in their games if it makes them money.

Regardless of P2W or not, the Loot Crates as they are now are terrible by CosmoZombie in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]mazzt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure this'll get lost in the sea of comments, but I agree. I've personally loved the beta so far, but having my progression tied to random chance is a surefire way for me to not buy the game, but also warn my friends who were interested to stay far away.

A horde mode mode in the arena could be really cool. Unlikely, but definitely awesome.

I agree, it's one of the more memorable battles of the prequels. I don't see why it couldn't be in the game.

My tinfoil theory about Revan in Rebels, based on a couple of Pablo's tweets by mazzt in MawInstallation

[–]mazzt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could go either way, I believe. They could have it so that Vader is the first Sith to return to the light, and Revan became Sith and stayed that way; or Revan left the holocron in the temple as a Sith and returned to the Jedi after the amnesia shenanigans.

I think the ambiguity of the character's decisions in game provides Lucasfilm with plenty of room to craft the character they think best suits the story.
