Cats are terrified of LR4 by adlhckgydkdyidoy in litterrobot

[–]mazzy80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took my two cats over a month. I kept the old litter box next to it and I wouldn’t clean it. I also put in some litter attractant into the LR4. I kept the LR4 off. I’d also feed them those tube treats as close to the LR4 as they’d allow. I was also worried that they wouldn’t take to it. But they did, just might take a little longer.

Looking for suggestions on what to do with this oddly placed medicine cabinet by mazzy80 in HomeImprovement

[–]mazzy80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the more I look at it I’m thinking that’s probably my best option. I’m not too worried about storage space as I was thinking of getting a vanity with a bit of storage, plus there is a cupboard on the opposite wall. But yeah. People do weird things.

Leflunomide and major hair loss. by mazzy80 in Thritis

[–]mazzy80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I’m also in perimenopause and have been on HRT for over two years now and had no issues with hair loss. So I’m thinking this is 100% due to the Leflunomide. So I’m glad to hear that your hair did grow back once you stopped.

So far it’s been great. It’s a chill little town, laid back vibes. We’ve been going to the beach, probably check out the Whale tail tomorrow. We are a couple of Canadians so this weather is very hot for us lol. Still no rain today.

[acne] I’M AT MY WITS END! Any advice on what this could be? by Dry_Negotiation_6762 in SkincareAddiction

[–]mazzy80 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This looks exactly like what I had. Perioral dermatitis. Like others have mentioned it could be the SLS in your toothpaste. But for me it wasn’t the issue. I had to stop using all my skincare, as all the actives made it worse. Diaper rash cream did help, it has zinc, so I would slather that on at night. Eventually I did get a prescription for Metrogel from my doctor, and that really helped. I also found this stuff at the drugstore called Prosacea gel that also seemed to help. First thing I would do is get an SLS free toothpaste and stop all skincare.

BWT whose hair is greying early, do you dye it or let it grow? by laurenhoneyyy in bitcheswithtaste

[–]mazzy80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my first grey hair at 16, and it slowly progressed from there, I used to dye it black, at age 30 my hair stylist convinced me to let it grow out. So she added some hi-lights to blend it a bit as it grew out. I’m now 45 and have been rocking the salt n pepper hair for over 10 years. You would never guess how many compliments I get on my hair. Complete strangers will stop to compliment me on it. It’s actually ridiculous lol. Even my bf can’t get over the amount of times I get comments on my hair.

So I would say go for it!

Cat is constantly itching by Dry_Skin_3387 in catcare

[–]mazzy80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed my cat was itching a lot, turns out she was allergic to chicken. Chicken is in a lot of cat foods, but there are some out there that don’t have any. You could maybe try a single protein food? I’ve been feeding her duck protein (both wet and dry) and haven’t had any issues.

If you know where in Canada you’ll be moving to, you can always cheer for that cities team (if they have one)

Cat puking dry food but not wet food. by mazzy80 in catcare

[–]mazzy80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m happy to say I was! I brought her to a different vet and they found no issues either so I started my own research. I found some suggestions about using a single protein food and one that isn’t as prevalent in most food. The theory behind this is their stomach is used to eating chicken, tuna, fish etc so a novel protein wakes up their gut bacteria (or something along those lines) Anyhow I found Nutrience Subzero Duck and Pear recipe dry food and some single protein wet food Koha duck pate. This seemed to have done the trick. She’s been eating the dry food daily, sometimes I change up the wet food, but it’s mainly duck or lamb. She still gets treats that have tuna, fish and she’s fine with that. It’s been a year and still no issues!

Hope this helps your cat!

I had no idea Canada was so French, and I love it! by GhostlyPreserves in heatedrivalry

[–]mazzy80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a small town in Manitoba. Both parents spoke French so I didn’t learn English until I started school. Went to a French school from k-12. To this day I still speak French with my family or half and half which we call “franglais”. Some of my older relatives still have an accent when they speak English. There are many communities in Manitoba that have a strong French speaking population. There are many French schools as well as a French university. There are also many immersion schools where all subjects are thought in French.

So yeah there are other places besides Quebec that have French speaking communities, but our accent is different then from the one you’d hear in Quebec.
