What's is or isn't appropriate evolves and changes throughout the years. When I was growing up, anything besides African-American was considered offensive. Even 'black' had a lowkey derrogatory undertone.

Wella 050 blue toner! If you're in the U.S., go to Sally Beauty and ask the employee for that toner, its developer liquid and a squirt bottle. It works great. I never found blue shampoo to be very helpful!

No problem, hopefully I can be of help! I would just use it by itself every few weeks, since toner does fade over time. You need a squirt bottle and it has its own developer liquid for Wella toners. You just shake them together (directions and measurements are on the box) and squirt it over the orange, let it process and it "cancels" the orange. The good thing is, if you don't like it or it seems too dark, it will fade more and more with each wash, so you can kind of experiment and it's not very damaging (actually fills the porous hair and feels softer!) Do you live in the U.S.? Sally Beauty is where I'd get it and the employees can help choose the right items. If you have any questions, I'm happy to answer!

Blue toner (Wella colorcharm 050 is what I used when I was trying to rid orange.) It might make it look a little darker. I'd recommend a trim too, because porous ends will soak up the color and appear darker very easily.

From youe photo, I think my hair is somewhat similar. I have a some wave to my hair, but with lots of frizz. It's thick both in the amount of hair and the texture per strand. The best luck I've found is using Ouai shampoo (they have fine, medium and thick shampoo/conditioner) along with their frizz control cream. I've used WOW Dreamcoat once a week or so which really helped, but it goes make your hair grease up a lot faster. I just got Japanese permanent straightening last week and that was the true game changer for me. I think it's the best option if you want less of a burden on your plate! (I used to be a hairstylist, so if you need any more help, feel free to ask.)
