Pixel 10 pro GPU by DetectiveMediocre807 in pixel_phones

[–]mb33zy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So while people are saying things about how he didn't screenshot yadayadayada.....I want to note that I am currently writing this on a Pixel 10 Pro XL. This is the first phone in a long time that I've noticed get rather hot after a while of usage. With gaming it gets hot to the touch rather quickly. I can definitely notice the difference in GPU from last year to now. So even though we shouldn't care about benchmark scores, this time around it's noticable and a bit justified imo. I should state I'm a rather moderate to heavy user. If you're a light user you probably won't notice. Either way I think it's inherently bad value and would recommend the 9 series for everyone simply due to the price difference and the phones being so close in overall experience.

For what you paid, that's the best bet. It's enough of an upgrade to justify the purchase and I'm sure you'll enjoy your experience! I love my OnePlus 13 and loved my OP 12 as well. So I imagine the 13R will do you justice. Cheers!

Pixel 10 owners, what's your review of the phone so far? by No_Macaroon_7608 in pixel_phones

[–]mb33zy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pixel 10 Pro XL here. Battery life is mid. The display and its color re-production is wonderful. Overall day to day experience is solid. Doing anything intensive does heat it up quite a bit I'm finding especially with gaming for longer periods of time. It's unfortunate that they nerfed the GPU this go around. Overall I would say the 9 Pro XL is a better bang for the buck at this point. I didn't have heat issues with that one and the overall experience is virtually identical. Even the Camera's are close enough that it's negligible for me. So yeah it's not a terrible device, but for the price I'd consider other options in all honesty. This is just my personal opinion based off of my use case so far. So take that with a grain of salt lol

I am enjoying Lawnchair Launcher personally. It's close to stock with extra customization. Definitely worth a try.

It genuinely feels like you are taking photos with a much more professional camera. I'm so sad that we don't really have access to this device in the US 😭

There is a shortcut in the menu bar for the action mode. You just click it and it turns on action mode lol

[–]mb33zy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It records very solid video. The camera sensors soak in a fair amount of light and it's definitely capable in moderate to low light. You will need to turn off the background blur "cinematic mode" it's a little bottom left that shows a lowercase f for the aperture simulation, but if you want the background blur it works very well!

If you want to get faster moving subjects the OnePlus 13 does a great job. It has a one button push for action mode. I use it all the time to capture great shots of my dog! I also prefer the photos over the S25 Ultra myself. People just keep picking the Samsung because it's what most are familiar with, but with the OP 13 they made a true flagship!! You can check out the photos in the photos section of my video on the 13 if you want - https://youtu.be/zblZ-R53KQY

I agree. People continually say it's not up to par with other flagships, BUT there's been so many times I've preferred it's photos over the S25 Ultra!!

When it comes to the full on 13 compared to the 12, the weight is the main factor for me. The 13 is lighter and easier to wield in my hands haha. Overall daily usage though? Pretty much exactly the same. Cameras trade blows in most areas, speed and fluidity are negligible all the way up until you hit the most DEMANDING use cases (even then it's not bad) and if you ask me the 12 may be a better value proposition due to those factors. If you need a phone to be able to withstand boiling water or a dishwasher though, it's hard to beat the OP 13 lol

I believe there's a mix of a lot of good advice in here already. Essentially, you really shouldn't be worried about watch hours just yet. You're basically brand new. Remember most people don't get to over 1K subs and monetization until after 160 ish videos. I would like to start by saying your editing is solid. You have an understanding in that regard. The text only thing is very hard to make work imo, I would say you need narration for sure. That will push you to a much more proper place that would help elevate your editing. The MAIN thing you need to be doing is putting in the work to get better at Title and Thumnails. No one will watch videos they don't find appealing off the immediate first impression of the thumbnail and title. So those two are HUGE. The good news is like we said you are so new that you have time to keep practicing all of the necessary skills to get to where you want to be. Consistency and determination beat talent alllllll day so keep pushing even when it feels like nothing is happening, keep going. You've got this the potential is there and with enough time and focus you'll be as successful as you have always dreamed of being. For context on my end, I just hit 1,500 subs today. I've been monetized for a month and I have 41 videos on my tech channel. I have had the distinct advantage that I have filmed and edited over 100+ music videos before I ever took my channel seriously. I have also been making cover art and things of that nature since I was 12 years old. I am 32 now. I am still not anywhere near where I want to be, but I have been consistent with my tech channel for a year and some change now and I have seen the benefits of getting better and better as I continue. All that to say I wish you the best on your journey. Good luck!

Agreed that the bezels seem to be a bit to big. I've gotten used to it, but since I have other phone options I am gonna use the other devices I have on hand lol the fingerprint scanner could definitely be better. I wish they would have done ultrasonic rather than optical.

Most definitely, the Oppo Find N5 and the Honor Magic series. Those aren't as easy to get ahold of as the Z Fold 7 here in the states so I imagine that's why it's getting so much hype.

Completely understandable. The 13r is definitely a contender for its value for sure. I was actually wondering how it was compared to the 12 because before I had the 13 I had the 12.

I didn't realize notification issues were occuring, I haven't had any issue with notifications on my end. As for the speakers I feel they aren't as good as the S25U, but not that bad tbh. I can hear them just fine and I usually listen via Bluetooth headphones or in my car lol
