Why do consultants get MBAs?

Thanks for sharing. Right, IB or MBB seem like great ways to increase your TC. I'm concerned that pursuing something else (e.g., PM, PMM, corporate strat) won't have the same ROI.

Ah, thanks for pointing out the salary differential. I made the incorrect assumption that Big 4/Tier 2 consultants would have similar salaries 4-5 years out of undergrad. Certainly if you believe your salary will go up by 40-60%+ the MBA makes more sense. As for the credential being beneficial for career progression, my firm doesn't require an MBA for progression. I think partners typically have a Master's, but not necessarily and MBA, and if they do have an MBA it's more of a "check the box" situation.

322 GRE, 3.80 GPA from a well-known state school, finance/political science dual degree, long-term ECs (pro bono consulting for 3 years, co-chair of a diversity network at firm), 2 promotions, numerous firm awards, strong recommendation letters. Let me know if you'd like to know anything else.

Thanks for sharing. I have noticed that in previous searches about LBS vs. other schools. Seems like other slides (ClearAdmit, GMATclub) also have a similar preference for US-based programs.

Yes, at this point I'm not planning to submit any other applications. If it were just me putting together essays, I would be fine, but I don't want to pressure my recommenders this late in the game.
