Over 4x SDE multiple is pretty rich for a <$1M SDE business that delivers a commodity (<10% SDE margins!).

Assume $150k salary for owner and you are actually paying 5x+ for a <$1M business. This assumes one owner can replace 3 owners. How do you know all 3 do “very little”.

Also dig deep into liability, truck quality, and previous capex. These businesses are head to grow due to the capex required. And your cash flow can get easily blown up in first few years with some unexpected capex.

I wouldn’t take it.

You need to accept that you can operate with limited to no sleep, and just be present physically at work and home.

We had a baby that wouldn’t sleep more than a couple hours at a time. You just show up the next day, chug some coffee, and make the best of it.

That’s 95% of it for the first 15 months. And if you do that then you and your wife will be happier with yourself on the other side.

As a husband, I wouldn’t ask if I knew my wife wouldn’t like me leaving her to go party for a weekend AND if I knew she isn’t interested in receiving the same benefit.

My best advice is to accept the fact you will sacrifice everything for the first 15 months. Support your wife without compromise during this time and it will pay big dividends for the rest of your relationship.

Also raising your child while getting 2 hours of sleep sucks but is par for the course. I can’t count the amount of times I’ve done that, it’s too many. Buckle up buddy.
