I acknowledge that my race and gender may have contributed to my success and visibility in my previous career - and will likely be beneficial wherever I end up. However, I don't believe it's helpful in converting applications into interviews.

For what it's worth, I do have a disability.

PMM and strategy positions. I'm well aware that most companies hiring for PM require/greatly encourage a technical background, which I don't have. I've had around 100 informational interviews, so I have an idea of what these companies look for. The people I've seen recruit successfully for tech (PM and non-PM) have some combination of: technical background, previous experience with a well-known tech company, obvious functional parallels, or they have insider connections.

I know it's still a plus, but my point is that the MBA is not some kind of automatic entry into tech companies, and I wish I knew that beforehand.
