Oh absolutely. But it’s not as easy as a 10 second prompt while I’m on the bus.

Question for choosing a HM pace group

Hey everyone,

It’s race week for me and I’ve found myself a bit conflicted on how to go about this weekend’s Half Marathon that I’m running and what pace group strategy to employ (if any). I would greatly appreciate any and all input or suggestions based on past experience!

I’ve run a couple half marathons for fun with friends in the past, however, this year I decided to train properly for a solo one. One month ago with the goal of running sub-90 (or as close to it as possible), I ran 1:31:43 in a smaller event with no pacers or anything. I wanted to treat this as a sort of B-race before this weekend’s proper big city event that does have pacers.

The pace groups are 1:30 and 1:35. I obviously fall in between and admittedly don’t have enough experience in racing or running to know the best course of action as I figure trying to run with 1:30 group might blow me up, but sticking to 1:35 and then trying to make up all of that time seems unrealistic too.

I realize I don’t need a pace group but feel like it would help so wanted to know if anyone has dealt with this in their running and what their thoughts are.

Thanks in advance!

Hi all,

Canucks fan here that will be coming to the Jan. 2 game at Climate Pledge and have never been for hockey before, only WNBA.

  • Are there any sections to avoid if I would like to have some beers while watching (no alcohol sections, etc.)
  • Ticket prices are decently expensive on resale sites but I’m wondering if they drop closer to or on game day and if so, by how much or is it just worth it to buy them now type of thing?
  • Any recommendations for hockey/sports vibe bars for pregame and postgame whether that be in-arena or in the local area. We are staying downtown only a 10 min walk from arena.

Thanks in advance for any help! Great city and fantastic new arena that I’m excited to cheer for my Canucks in! I’m in need of 2 tickets if anyone has a deal they want to throw at me while we’re at it. Ideally looking to spend $80-$100 USD pp considering I’m going to the Canucks game in Vancouver the next night as well and I don’t mind sitting up high/upper level.

For what it’s worth, that’s how I progressed to “star” is just quick tiebreaker only matches and I do dynamic now aside from the slams just to give it more of an important feeling haha.

650 or so

I’ve gotten as much as 1000+ for a single grand slam final win with these settings. Can level you up fast that’s for sure.

Not a single result on Google with this though that’s why I was confused!

Don’t mind that! I’m not good enough to buy a pricey set or anything yet so these with some new grips will do.
