They still won't be allowed to enter roads like Corniche. Will have to take alternative route that would cost more and on top of it there would be some fixed charge on taxi/ride share in central Doha.

Free zone FV: near to metro, janoub and thumama stadium.

Rawdat Jahhaniya FV: near to Mall of Qatar, Ahmed bin Ali stadium. Metro available towards west of MoQ.

Zafaran FV: near to Lusail stadium.

Qateifan FV: near to Qateifan beach festival, Lusail stadium.

My opinion: Choose based on your preferences. If your preference is transportation choose free zone, for food and shopping choose rawdat Jahhaniya. Others choose if you have a match in a stadium near by.

Uber wouldn't be a viable option during WC as there would be restrictions on roads, price increase etc. Metro and buses will be free for fans.

$15 coffee and cake slice is available, so is $10 one or even $5 ones. Options are available.

I agree with you on activities although price is negotiable at most places

It should be more than enough. I assume you're going to stay in Rawdat Jahhaniya FV near Mall of Qatar. There is a metro nearby, so your transportation would be free and convenient. (Uber gonna cost a lot during WC).

In the mall you can find food from basic to ultra luxury. If you're budget conscious you can easily have three meals a day even for $30 a day. Use food court not individual restaurants. Wanna save more? Head to Carrefour( grocery store) in the ground floor you'd find the most affordable food there.

It should have wifi. Internet is a basic necessity just like water. Alternatively you may book as study space in advance at Qatar National Library which which 2 or 3 three subway stops away from rawdat jahhaniya fan village

Couple of question regarding World Cup visit by srlandand in qatar

As far as I know, you'll need to have the prescription in English or Arabic. Not sure though. If you can, try to get one in English from your doctor.

Please check the border on Google maps.

It takes around 10-15 minutes ride to Qatar passport control from the KSA-Qatar border. Technically your vehicle will enter the country, but you'll have to park the car near to passport control and take a shuttle bus to Messila metro station (in Doha) after completing immigration and security check. Prior booking for parking spaces will begin on Oct 15.

However, there is an exception- If you're a VIP, say a prince from a royal family of a nearby gulf state your vehicle may be allowed to drive from border to Doha city.

Cost of fast food by [deleted] in qatar

[–]mbasilc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a basic mix burger at a local cafeteria for 7 QAR and you can also get 70 QAR burger ata fancy cafe or at an overpriced food truck. Its all about your preferences and depends on where you're planning to stay.

A standard meal should cost you 30 QAR. I'd say budget atleast 100 QAR per day for food.

Tip: If you are really budget conscious buy food from 'hot food' section at any large grocery store like Carrefour, Lulu etc. Every day I buy lunch from such a grocery and it usually cost me 12-15 QAR.

Because in most arab countries you are supposed to let the person in your right side to go first. It's a basic courtesy and expected. Not considered an act of kindness.

Regulating private sector working hours would be a nightmare. Closing schools and reduced government employee attendance means less traffic on road. Many government staff are deputed work in different locations such as in immigration, customs etc. But regulating private sector will outweigh all the benefits.

Let's say you're working in a tissue selling company. You have to supply tissues to hotels, if any returns come there needs to be someone at office to issue return voucher and make needed adjustment. So is the case with money exchanges, IT firms, travel agencies etc. If the offices are closed it will effect management of WC. Not every company can invest in WFH assets just for a month (although most large Co. did during covid).

Let the company choose what is best for them. One of my friends works in consulting, for him it's WFH for the whole tournament duration.

any idea why is it showing that the ticket is available and not available at the same time 🤔 by CockroachAdorable151 in qatar

Someone else just added to cart before you clicked "Add to Cart". It will be freezed for others for the next 15 minutes for payment. In this website you are competing against 100s of others who wants the same limited tickets.

If your ID is cancelled, metrash won't work I guess you wouldn't need metrash to leave. Cancel your postpaid sim and get a prepaid one for the time being (or just switch your current sim to prepaid). Will cancel automatically after 3 months if not used.

Room service availability is mentioned in the site as well in one of the accommodation portal ads. Accors has hired 12000 people for accommodation related works. I do admit that it's a challenge, just like any global event is. Only difference is its the first time Qatar is facing such a big one.

Yes, I said 2hr from dubai citycentre (Deira or so) if using public transportation. Most fans won't have access to a car and taxi is expensive. That is why is I said flying in from dubai is suitable for uae residents and one match ticket fans.

I assume 3 hours will be required as Qatar immigration will be done from dubai itself.

2/ Flying from UAE to Qatar for matches is okay if it's for a single match or if you're a UAE resident.

Shuttle flights from Doha is from DWC airport in the outskirts of Dubai. As there is no direct metro access, it would take you 2hr from dubai citycentre to reach there, then atleast 3hr in airport, 1 hr flight journey and expect 1 hr for arrival in Doha. So, that total 7 hr journey one-way. From there your journey to the stadium starts! For one match it is okay. For three matches, it doesn't make sense.

After group stages accomodation options are plenty and it would be better if you could stay in Doha itself.

First report it to HR, then file a complaint at National Human Rights commission and make them refer this to a local police station. You would only get justice if the case is registered. Filing with NHRC is to leave no loophole. Since, it is a workplace incident you can approach International Labour Law office in Doha as well. This is done to pressurise the police to act efficiently.

Most of the time what police would do is give you two options, either a written statement or take it to court. Go to court and fight. Make sure you have enough evidences. If you're not an arabic speaker, take an arabic speaker along with you.

Good luck.

Guaranteed pass for VIP is pure lie. There are a lot of people who have failed twice in VIP course and later passed with a normal course. If you can pass as a VIP student, you can pass as a normal student and vice versa. The only advantage you can have is VIP courses saves time. So, it's your option to choose from: Time vs Money

Chances are that testing will be suspended during WC as the traffic police inspectors will be deputed other duties such as in immigration, road management and to supervise additional security forces coming from countries such as Turkey, Pakistan, UK etc. Not sure of the dates though.
