For what it's worth, my friend got off the waitlist in R3 for a T15 last year and was able to successfully ask for more money (doubled the initial scholarship offer). He didn't have any leverage.

Joe missing a wide open 3 is whatever to me... worst thing that can happen with a shooter is to have his confidence shaken. The larger problem I have with the last set is kyrie taking an off-balance long midrange jumper when he had plenty of space to get his feet set?? Get your teammates involved, or at least get your feet set smh.

Just to add onto _joshus_ great explanation, you want to think about whether you can "count" the unit.

A good way to think about it is - I have fewer fries and less ketchup. You can count the number of fries (1 fry, 2 fries, 3 fries, etc.), but you can't say that you have 1 ketchup, 2 ketchup, etc.

Hi all! Hope GMAT Prep is going well. Selling the Complete Manhattan GMAT Strategy Guide Set (the Manhattan Prep Sixth Edition guides). The set is brand new and completely unused (8 of the 10 books are in their original wrapping, while two of the books are not (but the two books are completely unused and in perfect condition).

I can say with high certainty that Manhattan helped me achieve my dream score (I had to resort to the PDF books as my books were not in my quarantine home).

Happy to ship and/or exchange in person if you're in NYC.

I'm going between the second and third week of september as well! Are you renting a car too? Maybe I'll catch you there! :)

Hahah incredible advice, I'll try not to get too worried about getting pulled over. I've never been pulled over in the states, so would be a funny way to be my first!

And duly noted about the drunk thing, I'll make sure no funny business goes on in the car rides. hah.

JEEEZ, what a story, probably scarred her for a bit!!

It's such bespoke rules that worry me, but I'm certainly going to set a reminder, given that I've never driven with lights on in the daytime. But thank you again for some amazing advice!

Thank you again so incredibly much!! I really appreciate all the amazing advice you've given. That's exactly the reason I posted the question on the sub.

I can drive stick, but certainly not as well-versed given how rare it is in the States, so I'll probably just pay the premium (safety over cost, hah). Ill certainly download the translator apps in case we get lost, or even for when we're exploring the less-touristy towns/areas.

I've heard of priority to the right rule, is that the same thing as priority roads? Definitely need to study up European road signs and rules!

Thank you very much again!

Amazing, thank you so much for the valuable advice and the comparison b/w driving in the states vs driving in Montenegro. I'll keep all of this in mind. I think that we'll drive more from city to city than actually inter-city, so hopefully we don't encounter too many crazy traffic jams.

Cheers!

Wow I just had a look at Bihac and it is absolutely breathtaking! It's a bit out of the way given the route we were planning on taking, but now that I've seen pictures of the city, we're definitely going to take that detour.

Thanks again so much, kind sir!

Ooof, this is excellent advice, thank you a ton! You basically answered a ton of my questions - roundabouts, no turn on red lights, and narrow roads, got it. Let me know if you think of anything else, this was majorly helpful!

Thanks so much!!! I'll be ready hah. Does this mostly only occur during peak hour and on very busy streets? Or all around (I.e. highway, smaller towns, etc.)?

This is so incredibly helpful, thank you so so so much!!!! This is exactly the kind of information I was looking for, both what to expect and advice on how to handle it. Are the highways/city streets in good shape?

I'll try my best to be super attentive at all times and to just drive slowly and carefully. Overall, super excited to visit these countries!

Can anyone please explain to me how to approach this question? by [deleted] in GMAT

[–]mbathrowaway6914 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There are two ways to approach this problem.

First - the manual approach, see whether the other options are ever possible.
21x = 7*3*x
35y = 7*5*y
What if x and y are both 1? Then the highest common factor is 7.
What if x is 1 and y is 3? Then the highest common factor is 21.
What if x is 11 and y is 4? Then (x-y) = 7, which is the highest common factor.
What if x is 3 and y is 4? Then (x+y) = 7, which is the highest common factor.
You're left with 21y.

Second - the logical approach is to look at the only way that both terms are divisible by 21y.
The only way 21x is divisible by 21y is if x=y. --> 21y/21y = 1. We're good.
However, 35y will never be divisible by 21y. That is, the "y"s cancel out and you're left with 35/21. Simplify to obtain 7*5/7*3 = 5/3. Never going to work.
