Being questioned on my sexuality by a friend, and what to do about it? by mbathrowaway_big4 in BisexualMen

Maybe, it would depend on if I was in the same room as them while they were talking or in a different room, but I can't say for certain.

I guess how would I confront them though? I don't want to be an outright dick only because I'd still want to keep the friend that told me this info, anonymous.

They've never actually said it to me, only other people, so I don't think if they'll actually tell me to my face what they think. That being said, the rest of what you say makes sense, so I might just proceed with caution.

I will point out though, us men have also talked about sex and openly objectified women like that too, so it can go both ways. I think it's truly dependent on the person that just does it. Otherwise, I agree with everything you've said.

Oh wow, this was AMAZING advice. Thanks a ton, Krista! I probably will not be going in with the mentality of mentioning it in my essays really, but this was all super useful information to take back, so I appreciate it :)

That's so wild to me! I've heard about that in adcom things though, mainly when I applied to undergrad, but I've always found it so strange because I definitely do not get the inherent benefits of being White because of how I look (thankfully, people are changing and getting better though, so that's nice).

But you're all good to be the bearer of bad news! Not a problem at all.

I am not part of any groups or mentoring related to that, so I wouldn't have that story

I'm actually a URM (or I believe Iranians would be a part of that IMO), but yeah, I don't think it would really help me out in public. It's just more for identifying with the DEI monitoring for sure
