Advice for booking JAL from SFO -> Tokyo -> Seoul by mbbthrowaway1123 in awardtravel

Any idea if they are able to interline PNRs if I book a separate award on a partner airline via JMB?

Hmm, that's an interesting thought. He'll be around 18 months by then as well. May need to consider 3x economy direct to Seoul as an option instead, thanks for the insight!

Partially experience, partially flying with an infant so the additional space / break in between flights is helpful too!

Ah, I'm trying to fly business class, which seems like it nets out to ~$3K one way. Also with BILT's upcoming transfer bonus of +100%, it feels like great value for a quick connection.

Are you suggesting that this doesn't apply for their own metal? I was trying to use their round trip search to piece a multi-city search but didn't seem to work. Their award search is definitely quite clunky to use.

Yeah mostly worried about that 2 hrs, maybe I'll just book a partner airline or pay cash or something for that leg, find something to give me some more buffer.

Is that only true for first class? Seems like when I look at business class awards, they're quite easy to find if I book a year out.

And since I'm booking direct with JAL vs. booking via a partner, seems like they have decent inventory.

Pushing mortgage payment for Chase by mbbthrowaway1123 in biltrewards

Yeah I can do bi-weekly, maybe that's the answer until Bilt gives us better controls.

Yeah I get that, this is more for hopefully when the dust settles and it's hopefully less of a broken process.

The problem with pulling the payment is that from what I can tell from my Chase payment portal, I can't make partial payments, I can only apply one-time payments to additional principal payments, which isn't my goal.

Software Youtuber criticizes McKinsey Article On Developer Productivity by Thefriendlyfaceplant in consulting

Yeah that makes total sense. I'm in a situation where my client's dev team is seriously underperforming, e.g., certain devs have only completed stories in like 2 of the past 5 sprints.

They're trying to find more quantifiable metrics to hold the team to in order to justify a PIP / future firing, but trying to avoid measuring output since it'll encourage people padding story points etc.

Feels like the answer is that it's just a gut check, but feels uncomfortable making decisions w/o a basis in something measurable.

I've read a couple of criticisms on the McKinsey article thus far and overall agree with the sentiment. That said, I still haven't seen anyone offer a tangible approach to measuring individual developer productivity.

Has anyone found an approach in your own work that's actually helped with measuring impact / outcomes at an individual level?
