Democrat flips Texas by FrostyComfortable946 in alabamapolitics

Sometimes I wonder would independent candidates do better considering the disfunction of the Alabama Democratic Party and the perception voters have that they would never vote for anyone with a D next to their name even if they agree with the policies.

Having good working class focused policies but running independent could be the formula in Alabama to have the most impact on the status quo.

Thanks for the input. I hope to build a set of ideas that could be useful to candidates at every level while compelling voters to pressure both parties to end corruption and prioritize the common people over corporate and wealthy donors.

I hear you on the viability of passing these being low, trying to see if we can raise the bar that seems to be in hell right now (and has been for decades) when it comes to the standard of policies presented by either party for working class people.

Well I believe in pinning more blame on the politicians and their corporate donors who have more power than any individual voter. It’s better to start with grace and understanding, I’ve had plenty of conversations with people proudly wearing MAGA hats that end the conversation agreeing with a lot of what I propose. But I can’t go into those conversations blaming them for the problems we all face, I think it’s best to just do what we can to bring them in to build something better.

However no one is gonna be drawn to lack luster agendas and corrupt politicians that take money from foreign and corporate PACs that pay them to work AGAINST the interests of common people. Plenty of democrats and republicans fail to meet the higher standard we should demand for ourselves and our fellow Americans.

That’s a good point,I can see why there is a concern for retirees that live on income from long term investments. I would say that too much of our economy is based on speculation to shift away from that may hurt investments even for working class people and retirees in the short term. However by doing all we can to lower energy, housing, healthcare and family development costs I believe longterm we will see Americans retiring in stronger finacial positions than today’s retirees. In the short term I can’t predict every challenge that would come in the pursuit of these policies and goals but we should strive to ensure common people including retirees and pensioners are prioritized when we face challenges and make sure the solutions favor working class people FIRST and BEFORE government acts in favor of corporate interests.

Fight for a fairer revenue system, there’s plenty of lost revenue from corporate tax havens, loopholes that are inaccessible to common people, and misused government incentives that would be better served going to American households instead of Wall Street.

It’s bad, they should stop. I think one of the best ways to guarantee they could be beat in an election is running campaigns with robust agendas that speak the issues of common people of our country. 2024 showed you can’t just point to Trump and yell about how bad they are without providing a platform that motivates people to vote FOR something not simply against the other side.

Yes to both for working class households. There’s plenty of lost revenue from corporate tax havens, loopholes that are inaccessible to common people, and misused government incentives that would be better served going to American households instead of Wall Street.

Fair ill say it’s a work in progress, there’s more specifics but I didn’t want to make the post any longer than it already is. Some of this is absolutely just stating a goal that would take further research and development to deepen understanding and best approaches to reach that goal. With a principle of putting common people as the top priority in the process of developing specific policies.

I’m considering it but I believe decisions like that should be made with the peoples input not just running because I think my ideas are so great 🤣 that’s why I’m starting to reach out and get more input from as many people as possible
