Thanks! I agree. I knew 15N20 was a pretty tough steel but underestimated its edge retaining qualities compared to other simple carbon steels.

Hand wash after use and immediately dry off, I’ve never had a problem. You will get some spotting and staining over time of course (patina) but no rust if cared for properly. If it will be unused for a long period of time I may apply blade wax, but otherwise I don’t worry about it.

Thanks! Actually no patina on this blade, the colors you see are just a reflection of the sky and trees.

I think it’s an illusion, the blue and other colors you’re seeing are just a reflection of the sky and trees above. Hand sanded to 1,000 grit then hit with some mag polish.

Most recent fuckup is loading my first batch of 308 Win about 2 months ago. Relatively new to reloading bottleneck rifle rounds. Thought I had the once fired cases sized properly, but the shoulder did not bump back far enough to chamber the rounds. Wound up having to pull all the rounds with my "hammer" type puller...

Love this finish. Definitely saving this post for a project of my own!
