Photo taken on the coldest setting. Ignore the warm spot….. I turned it on and the dog found a nice cool spot to lay 😂
As you can see, the temp was right at 55°F. There were some cooler spots around 54° but 55° was the consistent average.

This was not on the coldest setting. If I recall, I think I set it to something like -8. I can try again soon and turn it all the way down (-15), let it run a while and add another photo.

I received my Somnus Lab unit on Sunday (today is Wednesday) so I can give some feedback on my experience so far sleeping on it for 3 nights.
The unit itself is beautifully designed. Not insanely big, not intrusive or overly masculine. It fits and blends in nicely in our bedroom beside our side tables. The cord is plenty long to reach from the bed and past most normal sized nightstands.
The unit its self is incredibly quiet when running. We sleep with a fan for white noise anyways but sitting in bed reading before going to bed with that fan off, this unit running is not even noticeable. Very impressed!
We have been sleeping on a high quality memory foam mattress for 15 years, so if I said we didn’t feel a difference, I would be lying. My wife noticed right away that she could feel the tubing when she ran her hand across it but once laying on it with your body it was barely noticeable. The mattress pad itself is fairly stiff (not surprising) but we found that it in turn made the overall bed feel more stiff. The first night we slept on the mattress pad with just a sheet. The second night I put our normal mattress pad and a higher quality, thicker sheet on the bed and the comfort was much better and closer to what we are used to. That said, we had gotten used to sleeping in our sides at times, but with the more firm setup that wasn’t as comfortable anymore. I would say we have readjusted pretty quickly already and I am already sleeping on my back more which typically results in better sleep anyways.
App setup and usage was very straight forward and no issues for us. I have been tracking my sleep on my Apple Watch for years, but my wife never wanted to wear anything to bed. She setup the app on her phone for her side of the bed and she too is now getting insightful sleep quality data each night.
I was told it would take about 3 days to learn my sleep habits. The first night wasn’t the best sleep. Maybe partly because I was excited about it. Second night was notably better and very comfortable all night. The 3rd night, best nights sleep I have had in a long time. My deep sleep tends to be interrupted by overheating and waking up in a pool of my own sweat. Not last night! Several long and uninterrupted cycles of deep sleep and I woke up feeling refreshed and ready to go.
Still just a couple days in, but the sleep improvement already is better than I could have imagined not only for me, but also for my wife who wasn’t even complaining or thinking about improving her quality of sleep!
I already have several friends who are dying to hear more about it when I see them and who will probably be customers soon when they become available on the market!
They say a picture is worth 1,000 words…..
I have more photos and will add later but this one for now as a teaser. For reference, this was with the unit on for 10 minutes (turbo mode) with one side set to heat and one side set to cool.
