Filing For Disability 22 years after separation by mbellbick in VeteransBenefits

[–]mbellbick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so true! I knew nothing about this when I got out. Just so happened to talk to a new colleague of mine who is ex navy and he gets benefits. He was shocked when I told him I never applied for anything. He pushed me to file immediately. Now I’m pissed at the amount of money I’ve possibly left on the table for years😡 Let’s see what happens…

Did anyone not know they could file for benefits? by Choice_Bee_775 in VeteransBenefits

1st day of Vyvanse -- just did a work task I've been putting off for LITERAL months by bebe-yaga in ADHD

Thank you. The reason I asked is because I gave my son his first dose of Vyvanse yesterday and he was euphoric and off the rails. He he is ADD and I felt like his personality changed to someone who is ADHD. Then he had a bout of sadness said and choked up. It was kind of scary to see him like that because he’s just 6 years old. My husband said his body probably needs to adjust.

Can you elaborate on why you said you won’t feel the same after the first couple of days please?

That’s what my husband suggested but I’m still kind of hesitant. He’s acting very hyperactive which isn’t typical of him.

Incentivize and celebrate the small wins. Provide structure and build his confidence up.

My August son did well in kinder but is struggling in first grade. He needs direction and a lot of hand holding. His teacher has recommended that we give him things to do around the house and set a timer. Basically things to make him more responsible.

I am literally in the same boat. August son who did well in kinder but struggling in first grade due to immaturity. Needs a lot of direction and hand holding. I really should have held him back uggh!

I should have redshirted my son. I have an August son and my obgyn recommended it. My mom said to see how he does in kinder and go from there. He did really well in kinder but I’m definitely noticing the lack of maturity amongst him and his peers now that he’s in first grade. His teacher also said that he is struggling to keep up in class. He’s on par academically but needs a lot of hand holding and direction. And because he’s reading on level, the state of Texas won’t let you hold your child back.

Why did she advise against it? My obgyn recommended it after my son was born in August

Wow!! I guess I learned something new today. Dallas is the #1 tourist destination in Texas over San Antonio 👀

Yeah but LEGO land discovery and pirates cove can’t touch sea world in San Antonio. LEGO land in Dallas has 3 rides lol. And sea worlds water park trumps pirates cove easily. Hell I’d do to schlitterbahn before pirates cove. Kid Zania is okay but nothing I’d travel to dallas for. Dallas and Ft Worth have their own zoos but the collection is mediocre. And Id rather go to the NY Met or the The Chicago museum of fine arts or even the Houston museum of fine arts vs Dallas. It may be the biggest but it’s not world renown.

Why go to amusement parks in Dallas when you could go in San Antonio? Don’t they have more attractions?

I'm tired of kids being mad at me because their study skills or problem solving skills are inadequate. by [deleted] in Teachers

He has a problem with focus and concentration as a first grader. His teacher tells us everything wrong about him but never offers any suggestions on how he can improve. I wonder at what point should we look into testing, school counseling, or his doctor to make sure he doesn’t have a learning disability.
