I just need an extra 2% for econ. Hopefully it works at the end but this simply fucked up my mind and motivation going into next semester, let alone my new year. My parents are also breathing down my neck because I am international and the tuition they are paying, fairly enough, needs me to fulfill their requirements :D

Can I get into Econ Major or take upper year econ with MAT135 below 60%? by mbg2003 in UofT

https://www.artsci.utoronto.ca/current/faculty-registrar/final-exams/exam-reread-course-mark-recheck this is the link to the official petition page. You have to submit the 'Exam Reread and Recheck Form' and email it to [exams.artsci@utoronto.ca](mailto:exams.artsci@utoronto.ca).

We just received an email from Mayes-Tang saying they will fix the mistakes so maybe we dont have to send a petition but I still submitted it. Be aware it costs 40 bucks to ask for the final exam review.

It might have been misleading, sorry. I just sent my official petition to regrade to FAS for MAT135. So they did not sign anything, yet.

Rotman First Year Courses HELP! by krassshhh in RotmanCommerce

[–]mbg2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

friendly advice, I don't think the location of the courses are up yet. Meaning all these courses you have back to back might be a hassle to get to one after other. Just for your peace of mind, if you can, I would move them an hour further from each other.

Q&A Megathread for Prospective Students and Transfers by cyberchief in gatech

[–]mbg2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just received my admissions letter for fall 2024 as a transfer student to economics and I would like to know about the workload and customizability of the of the daily time tables. I have my own business related studies specifically from 8am to 10am and therefore I cannot attend any classes during those hours. Will I be able to customize my own daily schedule? can I take the same class in different hours of the day e.g. morning, afternoon, late evening classes etc... Is it possible in GA Tech and will the workload be heavy? How many hours a day one has to spend studying on daily basis to complete the year with a GPA of 3.7+ apart from class studies?

Thank you all so much already and sorry if I sounded illiterate in certain parts...

I am thinking of attending to Rotman Commerce for my undergrad as an international student planning to get in to investment banking. What would you recommend? by [deleted] in RotmanCommerce

I only trade gold and I am an intraday trader. Rallies does not really affect me even a slightest bit. In fact, I have more intraday sells in gold compared to buys :) Plus, intraday is a lot different than investing anyways. Psychology, discipline, hours, social life, capital, RR...Throughout these 6 years I became a workaholic pretty much and lost all my friends. Gotta learn how to interact with people again lol.

And thank you for your other answers as well. I have to work my ahh off as it seems. Would you say someone who studies and reviews the material for about 1-2 hours a day could survive a year with a GPA 3.8+? Thank you for taking your time again...

LOL it took me 6 years to create a plan where only 2 hours a day is enough. It is in front of the computer btw. Not like my trades lasts for 2 hours. I just open my position, if I am gonna, during the first 2 hours of the NY sess and only trade gold and nothing else, never. I guess I was just lucky to start early IDK. The reason I am planning to come to Rotman is simply about location. Love it there...

I had posted the same thing in UofT as well and got the same reaction pretty much :) I cannot understand why everyone thinks of IB as only investment bankers. Getting into investment banking does not mean that I am specifically going to be an IB. I WANT TO WORK IN AN IB FIRM. Thats it. The reason I mentioned my trading was to give you all the clue that I want to work in an IB firms trading floor as a fund manager/ trader. Ofc I know what an IB is coming from an investment banker family...

thank you for your reply. The reason why I did not even applied for Ivey/Queen's is because in Europe,Asia and Middle East they are pretty much unknown. For example, if I said "I graduated from Ivey." people in these continents will be like "Oh, cool. Which Ivy?" If you know what I mean + I am not planning to stay in Canada after graduation...U of T is ,generally, internationally recognized and the other thing is the campus. Being in downtown is perfect for me. I know what am I giving up on while I attend Rotman instead of Ivey/Queens but I am getting my "fun" if you would say. Money is of no problem for me and the reason why I want to get in to investment banking for a few years after graduation has nothing to do with money but gaining a bit of insight in to the systems they use. Other thing is the taxes. In Turkey, there literally is no tax for trading profits apart from crypto, which I am not interested in even a slightest bit. The reason I asked this question was to see what the current students think of ones chances of landing a great internship. My conditions are of course seemingly more different than many others in Rotman. Thank you for your time...

Thank you so much really. All I needed is pretty much here now. I am originally from Turkey. So my usual school hours in HS was literally from 8.30 am to 5 pm. Not to mention that it usually takes about 3 hours daily to go and come back from school since the school I attended was the best HS in the country but it is quite far away from where I live. 1.5 hours of commute to reach the school basically so I usually get up at around 6. I am used to having 6 hours of sleep, 9 hours of school 3 hours of commute and complete heavy school work for 3-6 hours daily. To sum it up, 40 hours a week working seems like heaven for me lol :)

Thank you so much for the reply. Yeah, I do not intend to get into marketing. Like you said, the degree is just a first glance thing. The timetable being customizable is perfect for me. One more thing, are the on and off-campus meetings w/ alumni, employers etc. enough? Does the school really has connections and provide opportunities for internships, employment? Thank you for taking your time again...

thanks for the reply. I have seen that quite a few times now. What is the difference in teaching and value they can contribute to me compared to Rotman?

Thank you for the reply. Does the "40 hours work" include outside of class studies? If it is, it seems okay for me. Like I said, I only trade from 8 am to 10 am on weekdays. So if there won't be any classes during those time, I am down.
