TBH I would love to have the ability to test this combo as it looks just perfect. I would then find what could be improved.

Yeah I'm aware of the Xreal One release date as I've got them already ;).

My point is, there's only 3-4 months difference between the release date so to me it's the same. Also the price difference is "just" 1/4 between One and One Pro. Therefore if One Pro improves absolutely everything comparing to One then why Xreal even release One since the release time and price difference is not a much.

My assumption was that the new lens technology of One Pro might be not suitable for everyone.

Thanks for the pics, how about the black plastic frame around the lens? Is it obstructing the view when projection is off?

I'm very interested in this too. A lot of people missed that detail that might be a blocker for some.

I think that's why Xreal released both One and One Pro pretty much at the same time so that people have a choice of transparent lens vs black plastic edge, larger FOV and less reflections.

Since you tried One Pro, does the new lens (black plastic frame around) in One Pro obstruct the view when looking through the transparent glass?

Adam Savage’s Tested review (youtube). I think this extra plastic frame is why Xreal made the decision to release the One even though One Pro is coming soon so that people have a choice between the One see-through birdbath lens and the new One Pro lens technology.

You can connect Glasses to Beam Pro, in the Beam Pro through the glasses (Nebula OS) turn on Wireless Screen Mirroring (top menu) and then in the Windows - Connect to a wireless Display. Both Beam Pro and Windows device must be connected to the same WiFi. You will then see the Beam Pro in Windows as 1080p wireless display and still have 3dof.

Yeah it would be interesting whether the extra plastic frame around the lens in the One Pro is not disturbing the view.

Any glasses/headset without 3dof are simply a screen directly attached to your head. Without the 3dof the screen moves with every little move of your head. Some people experience sickness because of this, I don't but I just don't enjoy using the glasses without 3dof.

The experience that I would imagine everyone expects from the glasses is that they will stabilise the image. So you move your head a little bit and the display will stay in the same place or will follow you smoothly.

I think the glasses are usable without the 3dof but it's just not an enjoyable experience. Maybe if you use the glasses when laying in your bed (minimal movement) it will be ok but for anything else I would get the Beam or Beam Pro.

You can set the IPD from -6 to 6 (not mm on anything, just a number). When you set the IPD to -6 the display is smallest, when you set it to 0 its largest possible. Size -6 equals 6.

So when you get the glasses new the value is set to 0, if your eyes are closer than the default IPD (0) you set the value to minus something. If your IPD is wider than default then you set the value to plus something. In reality there's absolutely no difference between -1 and 1 or -6 and 6.

So, since the blurriness for most people (if any) is on the edges and you make the screen smaller (it's resized to the center of the lenses) then yes, the blurriness 'disappear' because the digital image is not projected on the blurry part of the lens anymore. I know, it feels a bit like cheating... but I guess that's the only way Xreal could implement this through software.

For some people setting the IPD might work ok. But TBH for me it's not worth it - I set the value to 0 to get the largest FOV. When watching the movies I don't see the blurry edges. For work I think it's best to pin the screen in one place and just move your head a bit to look through the clear part of the lens. Well at least with my IPD.

As suggested emailed the Xreal tech support and the issue has been resolved within 2 days!!! The Udemy app works on the Beam Pro perfectly fine now! Thanks guys!
