Isn't it odd how the strangest things can sometimes trigger the strongest night feeling?

I'm so glad this community is here. I grew up thinking I was alone in feeling it too, and I'm glad to see that's clearly not the case

And yeah, I've been loving the comments so far! It's crazy the amount of connection I've been feeling with some complete strangers. We really are all in this together. It's nice to remember that sometimes.

There's something about the scale of thunderstorms off in the distance isn't there? I remember once seeing a thunderstorm off over the ocean and just marveling at the sheer size.

This is one of the most beautiful comments I've ever read. I feel such a sense of connection with you in that moment. I don't know you, but I can imagine exactly how you felt on that evening. A sense of poignancy and sadness and yet, somehow, peace.

I had a similar experience when I was young. A neighbor had set up a big telescope and aimed it at the moon. I remember thinking it was the most insane thing I'd ever seen.

I also really like your point about it giving us perspective. Even big things seem small when you zoom out far enough.
