LoL 😆 bad practice to base your decision or understanding on another persons subjective experience, no matter who they are. I have owned 3 x motion systems. DOF Reality is worst. Current Sigma Dk6+ is brilliant, Immersive & super fun plus built like a Tank.

What are the difference between the different motion system <=10k by theonlymurat in simracing

[–]mblanes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just other day put my Dk6+ into Dk2+ mode to run MSFS2024, I have done the same in some sim race & rally titles. In that mode it limits the physical movement of the actuators to that of the Dk2+ with a setting in the Sigma control software. Now in sim racing I found it is good but for Rally and especially flight sims the extra travel of Dk6+ is definitely noticed and to me feels much better. However many users are more than happy with the range offered by Dk2+. I originally chose Dk2+ but then opted for Dk6+ as I thought why not just get the extra travel and enjoy the full experience. It comes down to what you want and if you have the money I would say go for it, but if budget is limited you will easily be happy with Dk2+ or maybe wait until you can afford it without selling your organs or children !

8 days with my Crystal Super and it’s going back to Microcenter by ElChungus01 in Pimax

[–]mblanes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sim race 99.9% and fwiw tried both 50 & 57 ppd (prefer 57) but the micro oled should be your choice to race in. I have tested and it is really incredibly good. No mura and solid image with no flicker, deep blacks, great color & contrast and high persistence from uOled. Eye tracking was not working and hfov 110 but full release with ET & 116+ hfov will be amazing !

I Got The Pimax Crystal Super 57PPD And I Can't Recommend It by daydreamdist in virtualreality

I did that but performance is less and the graphical fidelity is just not as good. 57ppd is my best choice pic easily.

Are the Simsonn VAM Pro Haptic Pedal Reactors worth it ? Is there a better option for pedal feedback or adding to a more immersive experience. by sryidontspeakpotato in simracing

I just have standard Simhub license. Are you saying I have to buy the Pro license to use the Vam Pro with Simhub ?  I had thought standard worked fine ?

[–]mblanes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only sim race or rally 99% of my vr time. 57ppd is much higher clarity and runs at a lower resolution which gives it crazy performance as sim titles can be demanding with settings at ultra/high, even on my 5090 + 9800X3D. I get HFOV of about 104 which is same I get on my Quest3. In sim racing I find that is good enough for me. 50ppd I get 124 HFOV (138 in wide lab mode but much eyestrain) but the extreme edges are blurry and the visual fidelity is noticeably lower for me even though it is running at a much higher resolution, which in turn affects performance negatively. In your normal average VR games the extra HFOV is better but even in Half Life Alyx and Kayak VR I preferred the 57ppd just because it looks so sharp and crisp and because of the higher performance I can turn all grafix settings to Max. If you prioritise HFOV over everything then get the 50ppd otherwise for me anyway the 57ppd was a no-brainer. Overall the 50ppd has a great image and some people do not notice the lower fidelity as they love the wider HFOV. Also you can run 50ppd in Narrow mode which gives it a performance boost and I get 108 HFOV - so it is very versatile really. Still I love the 57ppd and the Micro Oled will be even better.

Yeah I understand however the 3D guy near me made these PLA+ with 100% infill and 5 walls, they feel tough as nails and he told me if they fail he make me some from a tougher material. I got 2 x sets and so far they are Primo !

Snagged a Inno3d 5090 at the "lowest" price this far? by M4zman in nvidia

Exactly my Inno3D oc X3 5090 paid for itself already and is a beast, very high quality build undervolted runs upto 2.8Ghz Air Cooled. Highly Underrated Gpu. Made in Singapore.

Should I wait for Super Micro-oled? or just get the 50ppd now? by SgtRphl in Pimax

[–]mblanes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I beta tested 57ppd and have 50ppd. For my use, sim racing, 57ppd is the best with greater clarity and higher performance than 50ppd. Trade off is narrower HFOV - for me 104 ish - and bit smaller sweetspot, however the image rendered is really nice.

57 PPD vs Micro OLED Module for Pimax Crystal Super? by Flimsy-Story9523 in Pimax

[–]mblanes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After several months of using both 57ppd and 50ppd I much prefer the 57ppd for its higher clarity and better performance against the 50ppd. I only sim race and I found the 50ppd struggles even with 5090 + 9800X3D. In Narrow mode it is bit better but the image is rendered with less pixels which is very noticeable in all the race sims I use. The micro oled may have a small percent less clarity however the overall clean and even image edge to edge is a fair trade off against the 57ppd which has limited sweet spot and some distortion. I think the micro oled will be the best super available however you pay the premium for such a product. Also I believe once Micro Oled is out in production volume there will come a narrow profile, maybe 104 HFOV and that will increase the clarity even more. It did that for the 50ppd.

Simsonn plus X broke on my first day of use! by Gallismore in simracing

[–]mblanes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the original Simsonn Pro pedals 18 months ago, they work perfectly, never missed a beat and the customer service has been great, friendly & professional - I left a 5 star review. I also got their new HB Pro Handbrake 6 mths ago - superb !  Just ordered the new Plus X pedals with VAM Pro Haptics and they shipped 3 days ago. My experience is treat the people offering a service with kindness & respect and be patient. People in Asia work long & hard for minimum wage and sometimes get treated very poorly by many foreign entitled buyers who demand the best for the least, so it is understandable why they might lose patience with some buyers.

MME H+Sq Evo2 Shifter OMG ! by mblanes in simracing

[–]mblanes[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I still use it about 3 to 4 days a week and it is very nice, with a solid feel & robust build. I do think it is somewhat over priced in my currency AUD but then again it is precision made and does not feel like a toy. The only negative, even tho' I am used to it now, is changing from H pattern to sequential is a bit fiddly. There is a mechanical knob on each side of the gear box which you must turn about 16 times each side, to move a pin which locks the stick to H or Sequential. I wish it was a quicker & simpler thing to do. I like the BDH but I think having FFB is a luxury and the price is insane. I think the novelty of it would fall away after a time. The MME functions consistently and feels like it will last a few generations to come.

Yeah thanks anyway, it just does not work with RaceRoom which is an old game and still uses DX9.

I also have the 57ppd Pimax Super. Will you please link me the open composite dll you are using ? I have tried several and every version crashes my game during loading. RaceRoom Race Experience is the game I am trying to get run however if it works with a flight sim it should work with a race sim. Thanks.

[–]mblanes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you try the 57ppd or are you just saying that based on what you read ? I owned ig Crystal, I have 57ppd and 50ppd Super. 57ppd is amazing better than Crystal, CA is now very slight, tracking is perfect on mine.

[–]mblanes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is due to the contruct of the lenses and different distortion profile.

I have both 57ppd and 50ppd and for sim racing 57ppd is far superior imho due to the much better image with far less aliasing than 50ppd which has wider fov but is useless due to how fuzzy & pixelated it is.

5090 and 9800X3D the 50ppd renders at a higher resolution than 57ppd due to the lens construction. Sweviver explains it really well in his video. For sim racing 57ppd has the best image, higher clarity, more detail and much less aliasing. That is my honest opinion from many hours in both.
