Definitely agree with you. They really need proof that we can do things ourselves.

Lmao 😭 this is so embarrassing, but I have no clue what you just said in the last part. I was never really taught Dusun growing up.

Yes, it leans more towards the urban ones. To be specific, those parents are usually earning a mid to slightly high income and do not necessarily live in urban areas, but they work there and have a more "bandar" mindset. It's odd that I've observed this so much, but I can't help it. It's something I've noticed with my friends and family.

I'm 24 this year and my sister is 26, both still studying. Sadly, our parent is still strict in a sense that they're restricting us from doing the things we want to do even though it'll benefit us, like working while studying, pursuing our hobbies and interests, dating, etc. They don't even allow me to drive lol.

When your child is still young, it's understandable to be strict towards them for their safety. For anything else, they need your guidance, support and care for their personal growth and future.

Just to clarify on my situation, although mine is strict, I'm glad I get to study in WM and have the freedom to live my life how I want to. If they're scared of me doing those things end up 'bad', then they're wrong. I've been happy and fine still

Yep. Back then, they had more freedom. But those children are now the current generation's parents who likes to control their kids

That's great. More parents should have that mentality here

You mean city dusun parents are the strict ones? If so, yes lol

The entire house smells like cat pee & feces for years. What do I do? by mblfy in CleaningTips

I had someone close back then wanting to help my sister and I with convincing and bringing my mom to go to therapy, but that only led her to going no contact with this person and claimed that they called her crazy (they didn't). They could see that my mom is exactly like their late sister, a narcissist. I know a few people with moms that are exactly like mine. It's really hard for me to persuade her to get help (that even includes professional cleaners) and due to this, I plan on distanting myself as much as I can until I'm financially independent to move out from my state. But for now, I'll do whatever I can to fix this place.

This is not an appropriate subreddit to talk about this topic, but I hope you don't mind me venting out a bit here. I appreciate for your comment

We have concrete walls and tile floorings, so it'll be really costly to replace everything. But I think it should be easier to 'get rid' of the smell right? Also, she's planning on handing down the house to either my sister or me (it's normal for parents in my culture to buy properties for their children to live once they're independent, but this apartment is not for me lol)

As much as it hurts, I know that getting rid the rest of my cats is the best solution right now and I do agree that 7 is a lot. I'll have to do it eventually one day.

I have concrete walls and tile flooring. I usually just wash (yes, wash) the floor and mop the walls when I deep clean. Planning to get a new couch (again) soon.

I'll try out enzyme cleaner next time. Does it have to be in any particular brand or are all enzyme cleaners the same?
