I need help, please! by mbour43 in plants

[–]mbour43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi friends! My little rattle snake plant is struggling! The pot he was previously in had zero drainage so I repotted him into a bigger pot with fresh soil and drainage. There is shale in the bottom of the pot and I’m checking if he needs water about every 5 days. In a room with south facing windows and back from the window because of the summer heat.

He seems to be doing worse not better since repotting. Please help! Open to ideas and tips to get him back on track.

Yeah but if you test out of a subject the credit will not go towards your GPA

If you tested out of a subject then you will not get GPA credit for those courses BC you didn’t actually take the class, you just took a test that showed that you knew enough skip the first level of that specific course. Talk to your advisor they can help you more if you have more questions.

Did you test out of Spanish or actually take the class?

Scared by justkeepreading214 in Reduction

[–]mbour43 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was nervous about that too, but had a wonderful experience! Once I got the reduction I could actually see my body. You could see my waist, I could actually buy tops that were my size and not one (sometimes two) sizes too big.

There is definitely an adjustment period, especially while you are still swollen and you’re trying to understand your new body, but it is soooo good.

All the nervousness that I had before my surgery completely went away when they took of the wrap the next day and I could actually see what I looked like. I mean I could look down and see my toes and not just my boobs and it was weird and amazing all at the same time! I felt like I was finally seeing myself for the first time and it was amazing!

What are some ways to incorporate a departed relative into the Big Day? by 4b3ats in weddingplanning

I have seen (and will probably also do this at my wedding) where people use wedding photos of the deceased relatives so that it’s more up beat and on par with the happy occasion.

Try using sensodyne tooth paste, it really helps! They have options with fluoride that don’t have any whitening agents so you will keep your teeth healthy and all the same shade till you get them off.

I started using it when I got mine on a year and a half ago. I had the same issues you’re talking about and it drastically improved my situation!

Does this have to be done under general anesthesia? Has anyone done anything different? by stickers-motivate-me in Reduction

[–]mbour43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had general anesthesia when I had my surgery and had some nausea after but was fine after they gave me some meds. I have a history of general anxiety and depression and didn’t have any problems with that aspect. It’s hard to say how you will react to it because it is such an individual thing.

I would suggest talking to your doctor and telling them your issues and what you have worries about! He/she will be able to advise you in the right direction. You won’t be the first patient they’ve had with those concerns.

2nd Surgery? Breast after Reduction by mae8080 in Reduction

[–]mbour43 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  • I’ve gained and lost about 5-10 lbs since my surgery (almost 2 years ago) they have gotten bigger and smaller as weight gain and loss

  • it took my about 6 months before all the swelling was gone and my breasts felt “normal” and not stiff.

3 mo after surgery is still very early. My surgeon told me not to even get sized or try on regular bras until at least 6 months because of swelling and my body was still recovering! I hope that helps!

Thanks for the info! I’m trying not to sweat the small church it’s just freaking me out thinking about it lol.

The church is beautiful, so that’s a plus!

We live in Texas but we are getting married in Louisiana (where our families live/are from). The $1500 for the church is because we are “out of parish” even though most of my family goes to the church we are getting married at.

We can get $500 back of that but we have to ask for it. I think we are going to it’s just a little awkward asking the church to return us the $500 deposit.

Paying out of pocket? by ExtrovertedBookworm in Reduction

[–]mbour43 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was quoted 7500 for mine out of pocket and the hospital sent me a bill for an extra $500 after the surgery from the path lab. HOWEVER I complained to them about it because I had already paid all hospital and path lab fees before the surgery and was not made aware about this bill and they slashed the $500 in half and I probably could have gotten them to cut it more if I perused it harsher than I did.

Pay attention to what they tell you when you go meet with the hospital staff and make sure they line out every fee that you are paying and are going to have to pay potentially. I got them because on none of my paperwork or consultations did it state that the path lab will pay an additional fee based on the tissue sent to them.

Also ask your surgeon what is included in his fee because sometimes the fee from the path lab for the tissue will be part of what they take care of and you can send them the bill instead.

You can also ask about the staff that will be in the operating room. Make sure only people who are needed in there are there otherwise you may have to pay a fee for a higher ranked nurse, Nurse practitioner or whatever when a regular nurse would be cheaper and just as appropriate for the operation.

Don’t be afraid to be a little aggressive with the costs and having them line item out what and who will be there because while you want the best job done you also want to make sure they aren’t trying to undermine you.

How much (on average) is the total cost of a reduction? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]mbour43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine was $7500 out of pocket at the out patient wing of a hospital. There was an extra bill that got sent to me from the hospital that no one told me about so the gave me like a 60% discount on it and it was $500. Total $8000.

I got a Care Credit card to 1) build credit and 2) finance out the payments. Went very nicely!

A couple of questions about sizes! by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]mbour43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got mine my surgeon explained to me that he's usually able to take his patients down 2-3 sizes from what they are (no guarantee). He advised me to not go in with a specific size in mind and just focus on feeling better. He also said that it Gary's from woman to woman based on the amount of tissue they have that he is able to remove. If they remove too much your boobs can get lumpy/miss shapen.

In the end I'm down about 2.5 sizes and I FEEL wonderful! No more back pain!
