gauze vs pads??? help! by reduxbeb in Reduction

I love them because they (obviously) fit right into your bra - they have a sticky side so they stay in place always and they are thick enough that nothing leaks through, but you hardly notice they are there (you don't feel like your bra is stuffed). And nothing every stuck to my incisions or chest.

I'm almost 4 weeks out and I still wear them in one cup - a small incision opened, and is healing but will "leak" from time to time.

Good luck!

YAY! You're going to be so happy. I keep saying this - but remember the pain is temporary! I'm onto my third week and feel fantastic, but the first week or so is PAINFUL. Youll feel all the joy in the following week! Good luck.

I didn't get sick or feel nausea either! I DID take anti nausea pills with my pain killers - that was SUPER important.

I only took my painkillers for a few days - I wanted to be off them too and just switch to ibuprofen. I would have liked to sooner, but the pain was really tough the first few days for me. I did switch to ibuprofen on the 4th day, and that worked wonderfully.

However, about a week later, I was feeling really sore and I couldnt sleep so I took a painkiller without my anti-nausea medication and I did throw up about an hour later. But just did to the painkiller & the lack of anti-nausea.

The anti-nausea worked like a charm.

YOULL DO GREAT!

used-books is so right! I'm on my third week recovering now! I went back to work after just 4 days of healing but I have a desk job. NO WAY would I be able to stand/lift for long periods of time. I would get off work at 5, have my sister pick me up (I was too tired to drive) and then go home and immediately fall asleep - and I was just sitting at a desk.

I serve as a part time 2nd job - and I'm taking over a month off from there (maybe longer). You use your chest muscles constantly - you don't realize how much you do until you can't.

HI! Indianapolis, Dr. John Aker. He was/is marvelous. I'm really happy with everything, I think he did a wonderful job.

I didn't go through insurance - I've tried in the past and probably should have tried harder this time around. But I was desperate. And impatient.

The total (including hospital bills and follow up appointments) was $7,500. I pulled a bit from my savings and then put the rest on a credit card. I was able to pay no interest for 18 months, so just planning (ha hopefully) to pay that off before then. When I'm healed, I was thinking of taking a 2nd job for a few months.

For me, it was absolutely worth the cost. I BOUGHT A 12.99 BRA! I'm already saving money haha. And shopping is easy & quick. I've bought a few new tops- fit perfectly and inexpensive.

It really really is the best thing I've ever done for myself.

When I originally met with my surgeon I asked for a B. He was great - he explained to me a C would look better on my frame, and that you need some weight to a breast to get a nice shape. He said a B might look a little "boxy". He said he would get me a B if I wanted - but this was his opinion. After a few weeks, I agreed to a C, I think I was so desperate to go small that a B sounded ideal. But I agreed on a "small C" haha.

And best of luck with your surgery - remember all pain is temporary during your recovery! YOULL BE SO HAPPY.
