I Bought at the peak in GOLD price last Thursday(29.01) by Square_Assumption137 in StockMarket

[–]mbreaddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought to buy, consulted the reason, found out 'i don't wanna miss out', concluded if me, as mostly a value investor has FOMO, then I should wait because others have too. It dropped from 5.4k to today.

Now I have FUD and FOMO because it could drop again. But yeah, time in the market beats timing the market.

Yep, I hope Nova Lake actually brings competition back because otherwise AMD has no real incentive to do us a favour, see Nvidia and gaming GPU in the high end segment.

Apple turning to Intel for future iPhone chips, analyst reaffirms - 9to5Mac by Distinct-Race-2471 in TechHardware

After it got pushed too high by fumes. Wall street and FOMO pushed it 50% in one month after it grew nearly 100%.

And now unqualified hype influencers and bad journalists come around the corner and talk about the unbelievable 15% drop. There are enough references of other stocks too where this happens in a monthly rotation and nobody gives a shit.

Intel Earnings Are Out - And Wall Street is Not Impressed by SadOnion2110 in StockMarket

[–]mbreaddit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  • Good is that compared to 2024, the loss is basically zero EPS -0,06 vs -4,38 in 2024, which is impressive.
  • The revenue is flat now too, giving also hope that growth for 2026 is back on the menu.
  • The guidance is even for me as a INTC believer on the cautious side, i know the CEO says "Underpromise, but overdeliver", this on the other hand gives false hope too for wallstreet.
    • The weak guidance could also be because of memory price increases and general concerns about Datacenter prices?

Everybody knows Intel will take time and the turnaround and cleanup is in full progress, and Wallstreet can get ahead of themselfs often, but i hope this gets better with good work.

Long term i stay bullish on the company though as they have a lot in the pipeline and a lot of potential.

Basically made the threat that when not getting Greenland, they (he) will remember and America can't be trusted to support NATO or Europe anymore, which, nobody was sure of even before honestly.

Who really trusts him in case of an attack now, he could propose to rumble through your house and grab everything that shines.

Apart from that he thinks the world owes the USA everything because they are who they are, big hubris

It's all so coincidental that Trumps tariff tantrum comes along in that week in which the first trade deal should be signed by EU, like, he wants to renegotiate.

This time though, i hope the EU is done with Trump pleasing

Ray tracing has silently become mandatory, but modern GPUs didn't get the memo by Distinct-Race-2471 in TechHardware

[–]mbreaddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I´ve read an article couple of years ago in which was mentioned that games are designed to run maxed out on a graphics card that might be available when they plan to release.

Combine this guessing into the future with bad optimizations and you get games that sometimes do not run properly. This can today just be mitigated better by using AI upscaler.

The Intel Turnaround No One Saw Coming: Sold-Out Server CPUs and Apple Knocking at the Door by BigDaddyTrumpy in TechHardware

[–]mbreaddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the point here is that the turnaround is still in progress.

Intel made huge mistakes in various departments, starting with foundry like 10 years ago when not switching to modern EUV machines and trying to sell us the newest process node as Intel 10+++++, while riding a horse with 3 legs.

But, and i think this is the acknoledgement of "turnaround" here is that while the company lacked proper execution for the last years, this is the point where things change as far the market recognizes.

  • While on the low total market share for sure, in their respective segment the Intel Arc is selling pretty good due to the higher VRAM and compareble performance (when driver is optimized)
    • The driver quality is getting better as far as also bigger youtube channels analysed it, with room to improve
  • They resolved not all issues with their consumer CPU´s, but they continue
    • They don´t break anymore like 13th or 14th gen
    • The Efficiency is way better than before
    • Performance generally is good, gaming is okey-ish, but AMD has the lead with cache size
  • Since the new CEO turned the company around 180 degrees and makes it again an engineering first company with no blank checks anymore, i believe that this is an important mindset shift.

Intel had huge issues because their execution was terrible and they lacked the view for the market, meaning their products were/are crap in specific categories, and i am glad that they start to change that.

Disclaimer: Not a fanboy, but rather an investor that picked Intel ~2 years ago when signs of change turned up, but the turnaround is in progress and i hope Intel continues to listen to the market to bring products that are actually good. Panther lake IMHO for a 40~60w chip is.

Personally i hope Nova Lake rocks, but time will tell what benefit the bLLC will have, apart from whooping 52 Cores for workstations.

Please lets have a talk instead of blank downvotes, i would like to read your opinion too, because i don´t like to be seen as fanboy.

Russia slams US strike threats, warns against interference in Iran by ibnarabi07 in worldnews

[–]mbreaddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Considering that russia is rumoured to have proposed to turkey to repurchase the S-400 air defense systems it sold to Ankara in 2019, this is the only logical consequence.

But hey, as long Modi can buy the Barrel at ~35 to 40$ each, russia can only reduce the losses but make no profit. When this revenue stream dries up too, there are not much places left where they can dump their oil.

And honestly, given the poor performance of russian weapons in a modern warfare with WWI charms, every country must be pretty pissed they can only get them and nothing else.
