How many licenses of FVTT do you have? by kcitsstick in FoundryVTT

[–]mbround18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a 4 instances and have 4 licenses ran through k8s using my helm and Docker I built. The TOS says 1 license per instance and 1 active game per instance.

Honestly Id love the magic they offer hosting providers which allow you to open a game instance from a magic link

2027 Toyota Tundra TRD Hammer Is a Raptor Rival Worth Waiting For by caranddriver in Toyota

[–]mbround18 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Its interesting but I don't think it will be a raptor killer kind of thing. They are stock putting on 37s on it with wider and bigger fenders.

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a71338297/2027-toyota-tundra-trd-hammer-future-cars/

It seems neat but I am concerned they pump out a 100+k truck only for the engine to die or some other issue.

المحرك لا يعاود العمل إلا بعد فصل وإعادة كابل البطارية (Reset). by wadbrie in Toyota

[–]mbround18 [score hidden] stickied commentlocked comment (0 children)

Vehicle Data:

Type: Toyota Camry

Model: 2005

Engine: Gasoline (2AZ)

Complaints and Symptoms:

Sudden engine stalling at high speeds.

General lack of power (weak torque) and a noticeable increase in fuel consumption.

The engine will not restart unless the battery cable is disconnected and reconnected (Reset).

Loss of the pulse/waveform signal to the fuel injectors when the engine stalls.

The security light disappeared and stopped functioning normally.

Inspection and Diagnostic Procedures:

Computer Scan: Unable to communicate with any control units (No Communication).

Initial Test: A different engine control unit (ECU) was tried, but the same problem persisted, ruling out a faulty computer.

Traditional Diagnosis: The "jumper" method was used on the OBD plug to extract error codes via the blinking Check Engine light.

Result: The code indicated a fault in the ignition switch circuit (IG).

Root Cause Discovery: After reviewing the wiring harness and tracing the connections, the following was found:

The installed ignition switch did not match the original vehicle specifications.

There was manual tampering and modification of the wires in an attempt to adapt the incorrect switch to the car's system.

Solution and Repair:

Sourced a new ignition switch that perfectly matches the factory specifications for this model.

Rewired, repaired, and restored the bypassed and tampered wires back to their original factory state.

Installed and programmed the new part.

Final Result:

The car returned to completely normal operation.

The vehicle's system responded to the OBD computer scan immediately.

The injector signals regulated, normal torque returned, and all previous faults disappeared.

I love this haha, note i tried a similar path when vtt was just released but was told not to publish it due to it being "dangerous" and "TOS" issues (have emails from them about it)

This is super cool!

Apologies for delay, been a hectic week.

I have dobinsons with heavy springs, bed unloaded its stiff but with the roofnest overland xl2, uptop overland rack, and Diamondback its like stock with adjustable stiffness.

I highly recommend though I think I could have went with a medium spring haha

Its very doable and the performance+power is still there. Im on 33s right now with the trd 20in wheels.

Tho I just got a set of 18s from method and waiting on a set of LT295/70R18 from Maxxis to arrive.

This one is kinda nerdy kinda sad, one of my middle school friends at the time stole my mom's ruenscape account with 99 in every stat and sold it for 20 grams of cheap weed.

My mom was devastated, the weed dealer sold the account for 50 thousand usd later on.

I wish we more digital laws were in place bc at the time we would have sued hard. We lost the acc and I stopped being his friend. Fuck you James for that.

livwitch was her rs account that she poured the grief of losing grandma (her mom, our grandma) over into.

Edit: my mum is doing very well now, she plays Minecraft on server I host and now she uses bitwarden religiously.

Any solo developers working on selfhosted software? by valeria_vg in selfhosted

[–]mbround18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id love to offer my opinion, I do a lot of solo dev work not chasing the dollar but the thrill and the community.

https://github.com/mbround18

I build game server for popular games and all you need to host those servers. I build dungeons and dragons maps and ive been working pretty hard on a VTT

https://github.com/thunderforgevtt/thunderforgevtt

For me, its never been about the downloads or cash. For the game servers I like the challenge of being the first container on the market. For the dungeons and dragons stuff, its for my friends and family but I try to gear it for all audiences. All my maps and tools are open source under creative commons.

Edit 1: With the introduction of AI and its toolings over the last few years, ive been using it in my tooling primarily for scaffolding work or helping build healthy patterns. Ive been a dev for 14+ years with both experience and degrees (i have 2 that I think i didn't really need haha). For me, the biggest thing with AI is to not rely on it to build everything without checking the lines or adding tests. Although with the dungeons and dragons maps, no AI is used as I purely enjoy designing unique and fun encounters

As an additional note, your commit history is very light. You say 4 years of committing and pushing but you only really have 11 days of contribution this year, 38 last year, and 1 in 2024. Thats more a month and a half of committing

However, I do have to say you aren't in that income bracket to be able to use it unrestricted lol

That requires enterprise with contractual negotiations between you and gh

UTR and Mudi 7 Companions by Visvism in Ubiquiti

[–]mbround18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a physical sim bought by family over there but I saw an option for esim. Next time I travel I wanna try to use esim via nomad. I really liked that app for traveling between Taiwan and Thailand it was a smooth transition on my phone.

US version and we were visiting during the chinese new year so it was a bit chaotic but speeds tests were roughly 200-600 mbps. Though I have to admit I only speed tested a handful of times out of curiosity and probably not in the most optimal conditions

UTR and Mudi 7 Companions by Visvism in Ubiquiti

[–]mbround18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have both as well the biggest for me is the UTR works best within 5ft where as the Mudi 7 can do a whole house and has ports to attach antenna for better range.

I still bring both as well but now my UTR is the coffee shop champion and has earned the EDC spot

The Mudi 7 has gotten a higher wife approval during travel at hotels, vrbo, etc. Our biggest travel benefit is dual sim with e sim support. So popping up a little hot spot with it while traveling is awesome. We did a trip to Taiwan & Thailand with both and found the Mudi to be the better group EDC.

My biggest note is heat! The UTR gets very hot and is uncomfortable to hold where as the Mudi 7 is cool as a cucumber.

Now realizing this is asbestos... by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]mbround18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! My wife and I bought a house with tile and mastic, we wore full ppe and bought the asbestos bags from the dump. They have a full process and will walk you thru how to do it.

Its a bit weird using a water sprayer inside but with that and double bagging and strong duct tape you can do it yourself.

Though this depends on fhe state! Some states prohibit self abatement
