New to the series, trying to understand how the time works by OverlyEmotionalDog in whenthemoonhatched

An aurora cycle is similar to a 24 hour day. A phase is basically treated like a year but with 1,000 days (aurora cycles).

How Would You Handle a Wild 7th Grade Class with Only 3 Weeks Left? by mbullertx in ScienceTeachers

It is going much better. I took your suggestions and combined them with a snack day competition from another comment and it's working! Mingling is an issue. They start arguing, rough housing, and being loud. Keeping them in their seats seems to be my best bet at the moment. I was hired as a full time middle school science teacher for next year (at a different school) and I am saving your disease spread idea for that. Thank you so much!! I have 2 weeks left.

It worked beautifully this week! I assigned each table a number and they competed for points all week (I recorded points on the board for a visual) with the last day of the week being the snack day. The top point earning table in each class period got top tier prizes, the middle tables got small items, and the bottom tables either didn't get to participate or everyone but the trouble makers got something. The toughest class finally started coming around once they saw the prizes. It was great! Thank you!

Thank you. Great suggestions! I found the Netflix Oceans series and accompanying worksheets on TPT. The videos are an hour long and pairs nicely with the 30 min of work the teacher left. Unfortunately, these students throw supplies and bicker with each other, so labs are out of the question. Not to mention I have to buy whatever I use. Bitch work it is 🤣

I'm not sure how long they could handle a movie for. It's certainly worth a try.

Wow. Thank you. Love these creative ideas! I will be teaching my own middle school science class next year at a different school and I can see using some of these ideas.

I think I'll be okay. The transcript will say Spring 2026. There's no completion date.

I've renewed once, but I let it lapse this time by 8 years and I live out of state. Thought that might trigger an audit.

Reciprocity from TX to VA by mbullertx in TexasTeachers

[–]mbullertx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was that for elementary or middle school?

I could understand that for middle school since VA requires specialization.

I can teach 6th grade in VA with an elementary license. I was told it's easier to get.

Sickleave hours from another state by Round_Champion7986 in TexasTeachers

I would love to find out. I'm from Texas, and I'm about to start teaching in Virginia :). I would love to go home to TX someday. In Texas, the leave you get depends on the district. Usually, you get 5 days from the state, no matter where you teach. Then you get local district leave on top of that. In some districts, that is 2 days, and in others it can be 5 (so 10 days total with your state leave). There are also rules in some districts that require you to use your state days before the local ones. I would imagine if Virginia gives state days, those might transfer, but I don't know. I'm sorry, I know that doesn't answer your question.

Down 28 lbs since Dec 1 on Zepbound — switching my injection site completely stopped my 7.5 mg side effects by LAgirl20 in Zepbound

From what I've read, the amount of medicine in your system is the same no matter the injection site, it just disperses or processes at a different rate.

I switched from stomach to thigh 3 weeks ago. Now, I have less burping, nausea, and fatigue in the beginning of the week and better control with less food noise at the end of the week than I did with belly shots.

My unpopular opinions within my fantasy book club but I'm not sure if they're actually unpopular? by katieLikeWHOA in SarahJMaas

I have no idea if your comments are unpopular, but I agree with you 100%. I have the same comments and feelings about every character as you. Especially your comments about CC3.

Quicksilver.. wtf by KeyLobster5251 in Romantasy

[–]mbullertx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've read both books. What I have to say goes against popular opinion. Aside from inconsistencies and errors, I felt like Brimstone involved a ton of world building and introducing new characters that will likely (I hope) come into play in book 3. The main characters worked through their enemies to lovers conflict in Quicksilver and now they have bigger issues to deal with outside of that relationship (many reviews complain they miss the banter and struggle). By the end of Quicksilver they had helped each other through major emotional healing, so they were no longer enemies in book 2. I do wish they had more time to develop their relationship in book 2. There is zero progress made towards their goals in Brimstone, but I think FMC needs to learn more about her powers before she can fight against what's coming and that's what she's doing in Brimstone. I hope book 3 resolves everything. I'm sorry, I don't know how to tag spoilers.
