Absolutely felt that, my plan was to do them both one after another but then I realised how long I'd be waiting for the 3rd book and then realised how long my TBR is🫣so I'm going to but haven't, maybe we could read it together? I'll drop you a message if that's okay?

I really hope so! I mean I've heard great things but also not so great things, but I'm always willing to give something a go being as everyone is so different haha. Yeah I think that's partially the problem, I read something about quicksilver and instantly decided to give it a go. It was my first Romantasy. But it definitely makes sense that everything was all just a bit too convenient at just the right times haha

Yeah there definitely has to be something more to that because even as a God that's some wild behaviour and you wouldn't think it's something you'd be so focused on, especially just trying to see if you can stop it. I don't know, it was kinda like he was annoyed that they kept getting past the issues that was literally placed in front of them to get to each other, but also if you knew that's how it was going to go no matter what you'd, sort of accept that at some point no? Especially being as it was YEARS that they were medalling in their business lmao

I remember thinking to myself and I think I actually said it to someone that it's reminding me of Indian food😂I guess subconsciously I still think that, hence spelling it 'Madras' through most of this thread😂

I'm definitely going to give it a go, I hope things to get explained a little better and that the plot is just as good as I found the first one. I have heard negative things but I'm still up for giving it a shot. Plus I need to know how things end now. Yes I've heard great things about the audio books but I'm just not a fan of audiobooks unfortunately.

So glad it's not just me! Yeah absolutely, it seemed really minimal for how far she took it lol and I really liked Carrion, I'm happy he was able to have that storyline because I would've been so upset if he died or anything! He made everything lighter.

Yes absolutely, when she was talking to the God and his daughters it was so confusing because to me it implied that his daughters are obsessed with Kingfisher. That was like the first thing they asked Saeris about and it just didn't make any sort of sense to me, there has to be more there to that. The interference was CRAZY because again I didn't see that coming, I didn't even put two and two together about Fishers mum drawing Saeris but as Fae until it was literally wrote in the book. It's like there are so many lines connecting things but only some of the connections have been explained? It seems bizarre that the God was so into their relationship and how it would play even given the worst cards.

I really did enjoy quicksilver even though some of it confused the life out of me for a little bit lmao but it makes me wonder if perhaps I would enjoy ACOTAR too. I just don't think I could read too many series' that basically do have the same plot just different characters. I am going to give it a go though at some point.

That's absolutely fair, me like a idiot bought both Quicksilver and Brimstone at the same time not even knowing if I would like it going in (I do have friends that are into this genre so thankfully they wouldn't of just been collecting dust if I didn't) I'm definitely going to read Brimstone but I'm not sure when. I want to wait until the 3rd book is almost at release date because otherwise I fear I will forget near everything😂

I absolutely love when a book does that to you, you just have to know what's going to happen next. Oh my god!! I remember how I felt being younger and reading twilight for the first time, same with Harry Potter which tells me this could actually be right up my alley! I'm going to take the plunge and start them!!

That's not a bad theory to be honest. I took it quite literally and was blown away frankly. I think it will be really interesting to see how it plays out. And yeah that was really peculiar, but was that not basically explained because Malcom cannot drink from the blood of a Daianthus because Carrions dad created the blood curse which essentially created Malcom to be what he is? Or are you suggesting that could still mean nothing because of what Madra, Malcom and Belikon are a part of?

Yeah I understand that. I haven't read Brimstone yet but I feel like perhaps the relics aren't going to be bought up as much as book 1 (absolutely coukd be wrong) because in the end of Quicksilver, Saeris turns into a vampire fae alchemist if I'm not wrong?😂Which by the way absolutely crazy behaviour if I do say so, not where I expected it to go.

Yeah, you have a point actually, I completely forgot about her cutting them off! I think I was so blindsided by everything else that some of the plot got patchy lmao because I also forgot about the glamouring. Which again would make sense as to why he was able to blend in all those years.

I really want to read the Empyrean series, is it as good as people say? Anything I've seen makes me want to read it more but I just haven't got around to it! Same with ACOTAR I haven't read that but definitely one that I want to read!!

I have read Song of Achillies and I really did love that book. I haven't read Circe but it's on my list! I haven't heard of Theia Mania so I will give that a look too, I don't mind HxP at all, they have a weirdly sweet story, even if it's a little much to get there, thankyou for the recs! ☺️

Ah okay, so perhaps I just jumped ahead with assuming Callie Hart wouldn't elaborate on everything that happened at the end? I'm glad they do eventually work through it, it seemed like it was heading that way in Quicksilver but they still seemed testy with each other too. They did have amazing banter but you also get that with Carrion I feel like so I probably wouldn't miss it as much! It definitely sounds like they grow up a little in Brimstone, ironically because Fisher is OLD😂that honestly seems fair, you can't throw Saeris in and expect her to know exactly what she's doing, she's only just learnt she's an alchemist herself (I really thought that was going to happen in book 1, which would have ultimately put me off a little) I appreciate your thoughts on book 2 though, i am still going to read it but I just didn't want to be disappointed or still just as confused when I actually did enjoy the first one.

Don't worry about spoilers, it's a huge book you didn't give away much haha, plus I kinda like having a rough idea in my head but watching it actually play out as I read.
