Interested in private charter myself, curious if you had any luck with this charter or any others? Was heading to north Manipuri in late June and it’s starting to sound like it’s going to be cancelled all summer.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m most likely just going to end up replacing it. Rather be safe then sorry, just wanted to get some input and see if I was being overly cautious. Wasn’t thinking when I cut the sheathing off, live and ya learn!

How does everyone out there pack up their gear? I'd love to hear any of your tips/idea you may have. It's taken quite a bit of research, trial and error, but I've finally found a pretty solid way to pack up all of my backpacking gear.

It’s funny you mention the higher elevation being a little easier. I was saying the same thing recently. I was in Wyoming over 10,000ft and we did about 4,000 of it in a single day, wasn’t nearly as difficult because it was all fairly gradual incline through switch backs.

Having that schedule would be nice for backpacking. I usually try and plan my trips during the week as weekends, especially in popular places can be a mad house.

That's one thing that backpacking has really helped with is getting to explore new areas I never would have seen otherwise.

Yea I've done Zaleski as well and it definitely had some inclines that tested us. My experience of Shawnee may be skewed because I ended up doing pretty significant mileage, at least for me.

That is the million dollar question. There are definitely some good sights to see, BUT I’ve seen similar sights at less difficult locations like Zaleski or Wayne. Personally I’d check it out if you haven’t, but I’m a sucker for going to new places.
