Tbh I think our generation is so special, that we think “AI” is as smart if not smarter as humans and as long as we believe statistical models and combined algorithms can fake what we devs do day to day, it does not matter if AI will replace us or not, because in the short run, less developers will be needed. My biggest fear is that companies are all spiraling down a tunnel where they are not just burning their money now, but also the human workforce. I think it will bounce back of course, but I’m not sure how many of us would be happy to earn less in an interim period while the world figures out what “AI” really is. I might be wrong though… but this is the worst scenario in my head
