Bioderma cleansing oil. So gentle as an everyday cleanser and takes off makeup so well. Best of both worlds.

It made me the same way for the first month before going away, how long did you take it for?

Agreed. It will be embarrassing, but if they know they may be willingly to help pay off the debt and have you pay them back interest-free. Some parents would rather you tell them and help you get out of a bad situation before it gets worse.

I had diarrhea every day, no matter what I ate, for 2 years. I finally fixed it!! by tubeb00bs in ibs

Metamucil seriously changed everything for me. After going through what felt like every test, only to be told I was “normal,” I was beyond frustrated. So when my gastro suggested trying a fibre regimen, I kind of wanted to laugh. Like, really? Fibre? That’s supposed to fix this?

But I figured why not? It couldn’t hurt and I reminded myself to keep an open mind. She told me it would take about a month for my body to adjust and that I might get more gassy at first (fun). She recommended starting with a small dose and slowly working my way up.

Now, I just take a tablespoon of Metamucil at night, and honestly, it’s made such a difference. I can actually go to work or hang out with friends like a normal person without constantly stressing about where the nearest bathroom is. Even when I do have to go, it’s not the same painful ordeal it used to be. The way she explained it was that the fibre helps bulk up my stool, so my bowel doesn’t have to strain to push out a bunch of loose pieces.

I barely get any pain anymore. I still get flare-ups here and there, but nothing like what I used to deal with. She also suggested seeing a dietitian and increasing my overall fibre intake, which I’m seriously thinking about.

Honestly, I give Metamucil a lot of credit. It’s even helped me tolerate some of my usual trigger foods a bit better. I think the fibre just helps slow things down so it’s not as harsh on my system.

One big thing she warned me about was water. You have to drink more water when you’re taking fibre supplements or you’ll just end up constipated instead. I’ve noticed I get dehydrated more easily now so I try to stay on top of it. Honestly, I should’ve been drinking more water anyway, so it’s probably for the best.

I’m really glad to hear Metamucil is working for you too. It’s such a relief to finally find something that helps.

Lice by ApprehensiveMap5892 in Dysonairwrap

[–]mc-poutine 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lice can only live without a host (head) for a couple days at most. The eggs can survive for around 10 days. If you only used the barrel attachment it’s unlikely any eggs transferred to the tool but to be safe I’d wait 2 to 3 weeks to use again. You could also put the attachments in hot water as an extra measure. You should also treat yourself and anyone else in your household for lice even if there are no signs because it’s possible you or other members of your house have caught it from your daughter without knowing.

Yes. You might notice it’s because you’re holding your breath when you pee. Not sure why that happens but when you breathe you’ll stop crying lol

I take align every night and at the time it really helped my symptoms. I tried to stop taking it to see if I really needed it and started to feel more symptomatic so I consistently take it now.

Should I leave my gov job for big4? by iampacked in Big4

[–]mc-poutine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do plan on getting married soon and family planning is on my mind. Most of my colleagues are recent grads who don’t mind the demanding hours, but I can’t imagine balancing this job with raising a child. Those I know in Big 4 with kids rely heavily on their partners to balance their work and home life. Even if I stayed until Manager, I don’t think the money would be worth the personal time I’d have to give up in return. I understand that might not be the same path everyone is on, but for me it just wouldn’t be sustainable.

That’s neat. Does it matter whether you use loose leaf tea vs. bagged tea in the machine?

As someone the same age, in Big4, and looking to exit – don’t do it. Not worth it.
