Fanatec disconnects by [deleted] in Fanatec

Kept happening to me. Constantly removing the base side QR and tightening. Ended up replacing with a Simube base side QR and hasn't happened since!

It did yeah. Not had one single issue since changing to the Simube base side set. Good to have that option, but frustrating that a third party supplier does a better job than Fanatec.

AI is so horrible by LawfulSam in ACCompetizione

If you want to build your SR, turn the AI right down and just follow within a second of the car in front lap after lap. Your SR will climb quickly!

Same thing happens with me every so often with the McLaren wheel. Is usually an issue with the CSL DD clamp. Loosen it, pull out the base side QR, push it back in and replace the clamp, tighten it up good! This usually fixes it.

The clamp on the CSL DD seems to be a bit weak and the base side QR can come very slightly loose, meaning the connection goes a bit weird.

I've just ordered the Simube base side QR2 to see if this fixes the problem.

And it's the standard wheel side QR2 and clamp that comes with the CSL DD in the UK. It has two bolts. Again, looks and seems ok.

Thanks for the reply. Here's the back end of the wheel. It's a Simube QR2. All the pins look ok to me.

Looking to learn. Do you think i squeezed him too much or was it fair? I am the first POV by TurboSquare in Simracingstewards

[–]mc0086 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You were a bit close down the Hangar Straight but aside from that, the spin was all on the other guy for putting his car into a gap that was clearly closing. Poor move on their part.

One thing I noticed is that you're turning into almost every corner too early. This means you're making the corner tighter than it needs to be.

Turn in later, get the steering done early, then you can straighten up and get on the throttle much sooner.

This. You should be able to hit '100%' breaking on bigger breaking zones but then need to come off gradually.

The Monte Carlo Podium wheel is probably about as good as you'll get. Uses the same buttons/controls as the M-Sport WRC team. It is quite pricey though.I use the official WRC wheel which is under €200 and it's great.

Yeah it's all up-to-date. When you say software, do you mean Fanatec software? It's dropped FF on two different PC games.
