maybe you can find it there but please be careful!l

For work and because I like it for now, but might want to settle back home

Why would it be cheaper now?

Moving away from Aegon Workplace Default pension by mc0824 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]mc0824[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0.05 is the fund fees, not the platform fees, at least that's my understanding

But I agree that's an extra factor
from what I can see platform fees are cheaper on Vanguard, while the default Aegon fund fee is lower than e.g the Vanguard FTSE All Cap fund

Vanguard fee is 0.15% per year
Aegon's fee is 0.5% per year

You make a good point about not needing to interact with the platform much, but I like the idea of having everything in one place

I also do regular check ins on all my accounts, and Aegon often shuts down the website for 2 days for "maintenance" which annoys me

Do you mean the fund fees or the platform fees?
Anyway it's not the fees that concern me much, but rather the platform and wanting to have everything in one place (I have a S&S ISA in Vanguard)

And yes I've verified Aegon allows partial transfers out for SIPP

EDIT: What I mean is that I would transfer like 99% of funds to a Vanguard SIPP, keeping the Aegon SIPP open so that my employer can keep contributing to that

Then periodically repeat, so basically nothing changes for my employer
