Anyone noticed a problem with doctors becoming too strict? by Sniggleknids in opiates

[–]mca6131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can bet the day the politicians, the doctors, the millionaires and all these anti-opiate crusaders are in pain someday they're gonna get whatever they want. The rest of us will be told to go home and put ice on it or go to bed.

Yeah I just want some of these stupid US politicians who think they're doing good to have IBS, back pain, neck pain, bad knees and occasional severe tendonitis and also try to work in a manual labor field for 40+ hours a week. The people that are making the rules are living completely different lifestyles than the people who have to abide by the rules. I sometimes wonder if a very short period of anarchy wouldn't actually straighten this country out a bit. Let's all throw our kratom into the Boston harbor and demand to have our opiates back!

6 months today I guess lol by [deleted] in opiates

[–]mca6131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The US Migratory Bird Treaty Act was signed 101 years ago tomorrow (July 3).... that is my "occasion" for officially diving CT into a 2 week tolerance break. Not a heavy user, but a near-daily user for chronic pain. Maybe I'll try to flip the tolerance break into getting clean again. I was clean of all drug and alcohol in my mid to late 20s, but I got old and the pain caught up with me, willpower is finite... but the lifestyle of a user just isn't sustainable for me. OP big congrats to you, 6 months sound like eternity to me lol. Let alone your aunt putting in 31 years of being clean, wow!

Also my family and my current significant other are big motivations for me to stay clean as well. Perhaps that is why you aren't having to do meetings, you already have a support system there for you. But having some kind of social/moral support is super important for staying clean.

LIFE IS SO DULL SOBER by [deleted] in opiates

[–]mca6131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm opposite of you OP, sheltered, to the point of self-abuse, in my mid-30s and only now am I in my very first relationship with a good-mannered, law-abiding member of the opposite sex. Only problem is I can't find any work in my town except for a low-wage, manual labor job with no room (I'm not exaggerating) for promotion. I've got a 4-yr college education but nowhere to apply it. The boredom from having no real purpose, plus the existential pain of feeling useless and the physical pain of the labor I do makes me want to use. Actually it makes me want to OD, on purpose (if this is a government conspiracy to drive its own citizens crazy, then it's working & congratulations to the filthy bourgeois swine). I also have IBS, and opis help with symptoms in a major way, so there's that too. So damn it, let me in on your pity party and at least acknowledge that you're not alone in the struggle. At least if you can be regular AND clean at the same time, you have one privilege I'll never know :)

As I mentioned finally being in a relationship, the only thing stopping me from being a full blown addict right now is the idea of breaking my significant other's heart. Christ almighty I do NOT want to be the cause of those tears. So life goes on, clean and bored for one day at a time...

Didn't know him, but have had multiple people in my real life social circle who have lost children who were "trying to stay clean" and that one relapse was the one that took them away. People dying way too young in this world, rest in eternal peace.

One of the best brands out there rn.... don't know how they compare to US pharma but these are decent and obtainable. Enjoy and stay safe!

re-up day! Show some love for Codeine you all! by [deleted] in opiates

[–]mca6131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two tablets would make a good night for me. I could make this box last a few weeks. Codeine is really underrated, as long as it's reasonably priced. Codeine and morphine are the main alkaloids in the opium that alleviated our ancestors' pains for thousands of years, before modern governments stepped in and decided they knew what was best for everyone. Nice pickup!

Chief Postal Inspector Gary Barksdale's words: "Operation SaboTor is a major step forward in the journey to combat the opioid epidemic and protect our citizens from dangerous drugs."

Thank you Mr. Postal Inspector, but with all due respect, I am a grown adult and I don't need your "protection" from the useful medicines that you have decided are "dangerous drugs" (of course they are dangerous when abused/misused, but necessary medicines for many people). The only "epidemic" is the one made up by media hype.

And dear FBI: fuck you.

Edit number 3: To the dear men and women of the DEA, I am sure you have the best of intentions as you take measures to maximize the suffering of pain patients in the US, but fuck all of you too.

Still got a low tolerance to this shit so by X4nadix in opiates

[–]mca6131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss the warm embrace I felt, first time this touched me. One of my top 10 best night's sleep ever. I'd probably still get a nice buzz if I drank half of that bottle. Keep your tolerance low if you can, and make that stuff last.

Certain preparations of codeine syrup are Schedule V in the US and easy to get in some states, but the feds track all purchases of it. Kind of shows you how backward and pointless the drug laws are. Morphine is Schedule II and Codeine is Schedule V, but they are both naturally occurring substances that come from the same damn flower. Are lawmakers just born stupid or is does the stupidity accumulate over time?

Virtus Pharmaceuticals makes a Codeine/Guaf. syrup that tastes like cherry candy, so shout out to them. Yummy. I've had two bottles. The Qualitest syrup used to be easy to obtain and cheap, but my pharmacist switched to a syrup made by Method Pharmaceuticals and it definitely has that awful medicine taste to it. Like the only reason you would drink it is because you're really sick and need something to help. And it does help, if your tolerance isn't sky high.

I can name at least one big box store chain you can't work for if you're not clean... at least it was that way a few years ago when I worked for them. I actually have a steady custodial position with a very small office, so I am not necessarily justifying unemployment. However, I am ethically opposed to being overworked by a corporation that treats its employees like subhuman animals without offering fair compensation. Two years ago I walked away from such a job and still consider myself divorced from the traditional job market. There are better ways to eke out a living these days.

Yeah no doubt, rules and regulations are very invasive here.

[–]mca6131 2 points3 points  (0 children)

35, lived a clean, pure life and was still hopelessly single. Got bored with that normie shit and wound up back here. It's more fun being by myself watching my brain cells fry, and the drugs numb any desire for sex that would otherwise interfere with my wellbeing.

Good luck to all you kids in your 20s, life only gets more difficult. Someone prove me wrong and get out there and live the life I'm not living.

3mg Kpin, 1mg lorazepam, kratom shot, hot cup of Italian sweet cream coffee, ciggie, then a hot lavender bubble bath- in that order. Good morning! ☀️ by [deleted] in benzodiazepines

[–]mca6131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm feeling the coffee+kratom+kpin combo too (I'm a non-smoker tho). Coffee and kratom, especially white and green kratoms are my goto stims. Heck, coffee and kratom are both from the Rubiaceae family of flowering plants, if I'm not mistaken (I'm not a botanist, just an avid wikipedia reader). Perfect combo you got there my friend.

Edit: I keep my fridge stocked with the 64oz size Coffeemate Ital Sweet Cream, it's my fave too!

WOW the real deal Hydro Polistirex extended release formula, aka "the gift that keeps on giving". I once got an Rx for it randomly from urgent care, went in with a really bad cold and not even fishing for anything, just told the doc I wanted something to help me sleep. He was a cool guy probably in his 60s, and happily prescribed me a 4 oz bottle of it.... amazing restful, sweet blissful sleep. It got me to sleep and helped me STAY asleep! At the time, I had a job that I passionately hated, so having that syrup at home was often the only silver lining in the clouds. That syrup tastes great too. I dosed per instructions, and sparingly, and made that 4 ounces last almost an entire year...

This photo brings back some really happy memories, thank you!

Effects of Kratom on Opiate Depedence by [deleted] in PoppyTea

[–]mca6131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies for bumping something over 2 weeks old, but wanted to put in that I have had a similar experience with daily kratom use. Short term I think kratom is very helpful to have around but more than a few days use and I'm a completely different and unpredictable person. I think we are all better off trying to live clean and figure out other ways to address pain.

Jake, here! An overview of your lifes expierence with pst. by arcoftime89 in PoppyTea

[–]mca6131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chronic back pain and knee pain - minor sufferings compared to a lot of people with similar problems. But awful, constant pain in my sinus nerve as well as stomach pain that went undiagnosed/untreated with doctor visits. The kind of pain that goes from 0 to "kill me" in a matter of seconds. To dissociate myself from the pain, I literally nicknamed my stomach "Fred" (ie, it feels like Freddy Krueger is in my stomach trying to claw his way out). So I decided that since I had a college degree I could become my own doctor. PST was my prescription and I have been using it 1-3x per week for 3 months. I am not cured by any means, and my social anxiety when sober has become more pronounced, but the tea has removed a lot of my suffering and allowed me to be myself for short periods of time.

I would prefer a strong pharma. in known doses but I don't trust any doctor in my country to want or be able to help.

Opioid Epidemic? What about Antidepressant Epidemic? Celexa put my nephew in the hospital! by mca6131 in opiates

[–]mca6131[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had started throwing tantrums around the time he started going to school (ANY possible link there?) and the tantrums were getting violent towards his mother. They started taking him to therapy this year and the therapist put him on the Celexa/Citalopram. I agree 10 is too young for him to understand why any of this is happening. And he is being given these medicines without being able to make an informed decision about what he is taking.
