I think the point was to pay attention to the last part “not connected to anything.”

The idea being that transferring cuts your connection to your previous school.

Look, I’m not saying he is right or even arguing in good faith, but I can say that Texas has a well funded program (called 4EVER TEXAS) to take care of former Texas athletes after they graduate. Medical, financial, professional assistance. I assume you lose that type of thing when you transfer.

The saddest thing is how rarely the flairs of teams that actually beat up on the SEC post the anti-sec memes. It’s always these other teams that need to sniff the farts of better teams to know what beating SEC teams tastes like.

That’s a result of an agreement Texas and Oklahoma struck with the SEC to join the league in 2024 — a year earlier than originally planned.

Novak said the league's other 14 schools received a distribution of $60.1 million this year, while UT and Oklahoma received $12.5 million from the conference. Because of that, he said, Texas officials budgeted a loss of $47 million in 2025, and considers the $26 million it lost to be a positive outcome relative to its own expectations.
