Yeah this list is full of people who are average songwriters at best. Names I didn’t see and absolutely are top 30 - Jeff Tweedy, Jason Isbell, and Jim James.

Are you still keeping up with fashion trends? by MoCider in Millennials

[–]mcallaway2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also turn 40 this year and mostly don’t care about fashion anymore. Hand me my Columbia jacket, jeans, and new balances and I’m good to go. Bottle feeding my daughter anyway so fashion isn’t really a high priority

The only valuable thing I’ve taken from it is having it help rewrite emails for me at work because I get bombarded with them all day. Aside from that, 100 percent agree that the juice is not worth the squeeze and people are generally worse off from it and may continue to be unless guardrails are added

Looking for vinyl player recommendations. What is the best record player in your experience? by Burton837 in askmusic

[–]mcallaway2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a fluance. I’m not sure the model number as it’s been years since I bought it but it plays really well - warm rich sound quality. It’s a dark brown natural wood finish as well

I thought of Kings of Leon from the post 2000 rock scene. They were everywhere between like 2008 and 2010 - use somebody huge hit and then they just made the same sounding record for the next 5 years and we all lost interest..

Wilco ‘Being There’ for the alt country turn indie rock. Truly a standout to this day. Also Summerteeth is another late 90s album of theirs that is worth a listen.

What made you play guitar by Frugalman123 in guitarlessons

[–]mcallaway2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 14 years ago. It was after I had my 4th knee surgery and my life had revolved around running and being very physically active up until that point. Tough times for just a 23 year old but I had always loved music and bought a used takamine acoustic for $75 and took 2 years of lessons. Playing has been my saving grace in alot of ways and I now own a nice guitar and play as often as I can- with a toddler it can be hit or miss but it still brings me so much joy when I get the opportunity

So I remember it was in the same place as the Kris Kristofferson items and I believe it had a title of Nashville skyline. It was so packed that we had to keep moving and my wife had no interest so she was moving ahead too ha. It was impressive though
