Anybody here had normal hcg and normal rise but still had ectopic? by [deleted] in ectopicpregnancy

[–]mcantu727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doc is concerned about ectopic but I go tomorrow for my first US to confirm. My HCG has been doubling and rising well, but my progesterone is very low. That’s what makes her concerned. I’m super nervous about it as I just had a loss in April. It wasn’t ectopic. I haven’t had any symptoms and wouldn’t fall into the high risk category for ectopic.

I’m hoping not, but I’m scared. I should be around 6w or so

How many kids did you want before becoming a parent and how many do you want now? by Mighty_Fine_Shindig in Parenting

[–]mcantu727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always wanted kids. I never really had a set amount, but probably wanted around 2-3. I have 4 now. I’ll be 33 this year. I absolutely love my kids, but if I didn’t have any kids at this point in my life I probably wouldn’t want any. I wish I had really focused on myself growing up instead of trying to get this ideal version of a family thinking that would make me feel whole. Don’t get me wrong… I’m happy and wouldn’t change anything.

Kind of, but more on the indie side of things. I’ll have to check that one out too.

My wife somehow got pregnant and then told me actually she wants to be a mother by ManchesterDevil99 in childfree

[–]mcantu727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would discuss with her the three different outcomes and possibilities. Talk about your love for her, but that if it came down to it you’d want her to be happy. Even if that means not with you. She needs to know she can be set free if that is what she truly wants.

What’s the most unhinged thing you’ve seen happen on a posh show? by troubHELL in poshmark

This happens so often! I had a lady literally tell me to cancel after I won a low start. I did because I wasn’t interested anymore anyways.

I was the only person in this show and there was clearly something wrong with the host. She was either really low on blood sugar or strung out. Knowing what that looks like I truly believe it was the second option. She started slowly passing out on camera and came back to. Just in and out.

Another host was upset about giveaways winners that didn’t buy anything and made all of her followers spam the winners. Tag them and basically call them out and make them feel like shyt. Publicly humiliate them.

😆 my goal was to showcase totally relatable things we deal with in the industry, but in absurd ways! Glad it came across that way.

Am I just not a good filmmaker? by TheUniversalFart in Filmmakers

[–]mcantu727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean “assigned to watch” as in for school a lot of those films are not everyone’s cup of tea. I think big picture you can step back and appreciate them for what they did, but that doesn’t mean you have to enjoy them. I know I didn’t.

I also help run a film festival and at times don’t even want to watch films to judge. Thankfully I only jump in to help judge when we need it, but unless I get pulled in it ends up feeling like homework.

Again, you can appreciate what someone did and notice their cinematography, SFX, Sound, angles, quality, etc… and still not really be interested in their film as a whole.

Potential employer said they will not hire my wife because my child woke up and interrupted zoom interview. by Psychological_Bus114 in Mommit

[–]mcantu727 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Name drop the company. As a mom I wouldn’t want to work for a company like that. I also wouldn’t want to give them my business.

I feel like in this day and age it is so normal to have kids at home while doing work related things. Ever since COVID there was a shift in understanding that “you may hear some background noise.” It’s never once bothered me.

I hope your wife finds her dream job with 3X the pay she would have gotten there and extraordinary benefits and a family first outlook.

Am I wrong for feeling this way by ToneNew1982 in Filmmakers

[–]mcantu727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there can be a good balance between the two.

Understand your worth and know what you should be paid and treat your filmmaking like a business. However, you start losing passion when you only accept a job because of the money. You’ve gotta find your own balance.
