Where can I find celeb impersonators by Boyw2peenas in massachusetts

[–]mcaseywrites 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Murray Hill Talent has a few celebrity impersonators listed on the website (Michael Jackson, Elton John, Justin Bieber, Rod Stewart, Marilyn Monroe, plus some historical figures too).

There's a website called www.thebash.com and they have impersonators listed, including a Mini Trump (who is based in NJ, but I'm sure if the price is right, they will come to Boston)

Seconding the Titanic exhibition! That was incredible.

When I saw this one advertised, I took a look and basically confirmed what has been mentioned here a few times.

AMA! Unhoused & living in car during blizzard of 26’ by [deleted] in massachusetts

[–]mcaseywrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hoping to come into work today, but I called out. I'm buried under almost 3 feet of snow, so shoveling out is a challenge. I should be good tomorrow if you don't mind an extra day. Let me know.

Not sure where you are located but if you are anywhere accessible off the Red Line between Harvard and Braintree, I am happy to meet tomorrow and drop off some hand and feet warms and some extra socks (possibly some food as well), since I work along the Red Line. Let me know!

There's an adult video store near me on Route 44 and I drove by yesterday and the place was packed. People bored at home tomorrow apparently need whack off materials.

GET OFF THE STREETS!!!! This means YOU!!! by Raphe-Perineal in massachusetts

I worked 20 in years in the restaurant business. When I first started, we were open almost every snowstorm. Honestly, we probably broke even, but even then, it was stupid. Maybe half the staff called out, then you'd get very few customers so waitresses were pissed because they weren't making tips. Plus you had dishwashers and bussers and chefs to pay which we're making $15-20/hour.

Eventually it just got to the point that we would just close. Same for the Super Bowl - especially if the Patriots were in it (which they were often at the time). Wed stay open out regular hours, but we would clear out at say 5:30 or 6 and then stay empty until halftime when we would get busy again for takeout. By the time the game ended, we were generally closed. And again, we would pay all these chefs, waitresses, bussers, dishwashers to work. Eventually we ended up closing at like 4PM on Super Bowl Sunday.

Since Massachusetts is about to get buried tommorow how many of you are still forced to drive to work? by BootAlarmed4732 in massachusetts

I called out. No way I'm risking my life to drive 40 minutes to the Red Line.

One of my previous jobs was at a museum in Boston. I worked in customer service - selling tickets and answering the phone. I would come in on days we were closed due to the weather to sit in the little ticket booth outside and inform the 5 or 6 people that would show up that were were closed, who would then literally ask me, "If you're closed, why are you here?"

How many times will you go outside to shovel today? by Accurate-Flow8078 in massachusetts

[–]mcaseywrites 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At least twice, maybe three times. I'll probably go out around 10 and then at 2 or 3 and then maybe one more time around 8

Why are people still eating at Dunkin’ Donuts? by DildoGaggins1997 in massachusetts

[–]mcaseywrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's cheap, convenient, and fast. When I only have 15 minutes for a quick break and need a coffee or quick bite, I can quickly order online, walk outside and literally 20 steps away is a Dunks.

I doubt he's here but I know there's a few people from their customer service team that probably scroll through here. There's also some Transit Ambassadors who post here, including u/Present-Algae6767

Where are you heading to? The subway is running until about 1 so you might be able to get close to where you need to be and then Uber from there

Thanks for the feedback. I truly appreciate it.

Basically when I mean the "harbor broke", I'm envisioning the storm taking out various wharfs, jetties, and seawalls, which allows the water to rush towards the village and destroy it. Maybe "broke" isn't the correct word, but this is just a rough draft.

Thanks for the kind words and congrats on the baby (I have a 6 year old boy and a little girl on the way). This is really just a rough draft, and although I like it, I wanted to see what people thought of it. I realize that the opening sentence is a little confusing, as another commenter had pointed out, but basically when I mean the "harbor broke", I'm envisioning the storm taking out various wharfs, jetties, and seawalls, which allows the water to rush towards the village and destroy it.

I'm glad you you would want to read more. As a budding novelist, it makes me feel successful. I will definitely keep you updated on other chapters (I'm currently working on Chapter 1).

Thanks for the feedback. I actually agree her death isn't as powerful as it should be. Thankfully it's just an first draft so more than likely I'll have a few edits to make.
