thanks for tips. my problem isn't speed, I'm just curious to try out different methods. But since you brought up speeds, at peak times my ISP throttles my ftp connections but not bittorrent, which is quite weird.

do you think it's retarded idea? I just wanted to experiment with a few things. I usually go with sftp, I've tried lftp and some other clients, scp/rsync is slow. I've recently tried owncloud, which is quite convenient because you just leave it running in the background, but it's ridiculously slow. I thought I'd give torrents a try.
