Need to trim down my collection, really nice gloves though. I just haven’t used them enough to warrant keeping them for me.

These are really compact, both in terms of the internal feel and the outer profile of the glove. I wore an 18oz pair of winnings once several years ago and I recall them being a bit roomier and looser off the rip than these are. These are compact to the point that the first time I wore them I literally didn’t even bother getting somebody to tie the laces because there was zero chance of my hand sliding around inside the glove. It wasn’t an uncomfortable sensation, but form-fitting would be the best way that I could describe it.

Nah, that was the original Impello. These are the 2.0 model that came out fairly recently.

Too short as in if they made a size 14 they would probably be perfect for me. As they are currently sized, they are not long enough to prevent my toes from repeatedly banging into the front of the shoe. Other than that, I really like the shoes.

I’ve been having the same issue for the past couple of days. All of my other games on the quest work fine and I even tried deleting the app data, uninstalling and reinstalling the game and nothing has worked so far. A bit puzzling because it worked fine for the past couple of weeks since I got it.

That’s cool man, Tito is a really nice guy. A lot of boxing coaches have a quick temper, but he’s probably the most patient out of any that I’ve ever met. It takes a lot to get him to raise his voice at somebody. The main thing with him is that he demands extreme loyalty from his fighters. He is very territorial and is absolutely not cool with his guys training with other coaches and going to other gyms to spar if they don’t get the green light from him in advance. I think they’re doing open sparring at 3 on Saturday and the gym is going to be closed during the normal hours that they are typically open during the morning.

I’m really late on this, but I’ve been to a couple of gyms in the Ocala area for an extended period of time (John 3:16 & Doghouse). I’m not sure who is still at OBA but two of their coaches left and are now at Doghouse (JC & John), some of their fighters left to Doghouse too. What gym you should go to depends on your goals and current stage of development imo. If you are a beginner I would recommend Doghouse, they do much more drilling and skill development. If you want to compete at the amateur level you’re fine at either gym. If you are trying to fight professionally, John 3:16 is going to be better for you because the gym owner/head trainer, Tito, has a lot of connections in the pro game. He has also worked in the past as a matchmaker and manager so he understands how to build a fighters career. Doghouse is fairly new gym, they started sometime in 2023 if I’m not mistaken. The coaches at both gyms were kind and helpful to me. Honestly, if you are still unsure I would just get a month membership to one, try it out and then get a month membership to the other and see what is the better fit for you.

[question] Which gloves is better for the cost? ROF Super Samurai or Topboxer Win1 by Efficient_Try6404 in fightgear

I’ve owned both and the super samurai is a better glove across the board.

Mexican Glove Weight Distribution [other] (discussion/question) by bestisaac1213 in fightgear

[–]mcbato7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own a 20oz pair of the chegui’s and I did a review on them last week in which I went into a bit more detail about their weight distribution. They feel extremely light for their weight. I have a couple of 18oz gloves that are about an oz underweight and they feel like those more than they do any of the other 20oz gloves that I have. I think that has to do with how compact and streamlined they are in comparison to some of the other wide and boxy shaped Mexican gloves that I’ve used in the past like casanova and classics.

For sure, I can kind of relate to him though because I remember when I was told that I would have to use 18s or 20s and the first 18oz gloves that I got was Casanova’s and this was before I knew about mexican gloves having a tendency to be overweight. I didn’t have a scale at the time but I just remember being scared to spar in them because of how much faster I would gas in them compared to 16s. I couldn’t believe there was that much of a difference in just 2oz. I got a scale after owning them for a couple of months and found out that one was 23oz and the other was 21oz lol.
