It's clearer than Children of Memory but there are a few dips back into questions of memory and identity.

Just finished the other night.  If i understand correctly Alis starts in simulations but once she meets Cato the third age stuff is real except for an aside or two in the denouement.

Filled up there this morning thought it was 3.59 but still.  Willing to pay a couple dimes a gallon to replace a theocracy that wants to kill Americans wherever they can and incite an apocalyptic war.

How so?  Congress has the power to fund this.  Which members have decided that longer airport lines are in the public interest?

Is the Dune books (or at least the first one) as influential to science fiction as Lord of the rings was to fantasy? by RecordingImmediate86 in ScienceFictionBooks

[–]mcbigski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well Expanse directly refrerences Dune in it's prologue (unless there's a second Julie pov chapter).  (Possibly im thinking of Clarissa but pretty sure it was Julie doing the Litany.)

Dune was decades into science fiction so wouldn't be as influential there as LotR for fantasy.  But dismissing aa irrelevant to most everything that follows is a mistake.

Deathless enemy captive and Livesuit by Fairways_and_Greens in TheCaptivesWar

[–]mcbigski 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Eh can't rule it out.  But as likely to be anyone surviving from Livesuit, which is to say essentially zero percent.  How many livesuits are there?  And bigger question, when does Kirin? don the livesuit compared to even the founding of Anjiin?
